Post subject:  Hypothetical Size Question: NEED HELP!

If I trim the bumper/fender wells, pound the pinch welds, etc. would it be possible to fit 245/75x16s on my STOCK liberty suspension, or is this demanding too much from the space available?

I already read the sticky size thread, it says min. 1.5" lift, but I did some rigging on my old truck and managed to get some tires that never should have fit on the stock suspension. so basically.

What is the biggest possible without lift after modifying fenders/bumper/welds/etc.?

(if it will only work on road I could manage that for a while too I suppose, I just need something that looks more aggressive than what I've got now)

Doubt it, 245-70s rub some when fully tirned on stock suspension, of course someone will chime in and say they done it but do you really want to buy new tires and have them all cut up from rubbing?

You could try and do a clevis along with one or two isolators in the rear and gain some room, also depends on the type of tire and the wheels you use.

Chime!
245x70r16s on mine, stock as stock can be otherwise.
Having said that, this Jeep is not offroaded at all... it's my mall-crawler, and since the tires have only been on for a week, I cannot speak to full-lock turns, since I haven't encountered one yet!
Tommudd, admit it, you had me in mind when you wrote that, right?

Well, I'm going to be Running stock 16's, the tires are MTRs that have about 7/32nds of tread left, if that helps any. But this will only be temporary, as i will, hopefully, be getting lifted in the next few months.

7/32" tread left, man those are bald.I ran 245/75R16 MT/R's on OEM rims on my pre-lowered KJ when I 1st got it with no lift at all,but a pre-lowered KJ sites 3/4" higher then a lowered KJ like you have.It did rub at 3/4 lock thru full lock and being it was brand new(3 miles on the ODO,left the dealer lot with the MT/R's on) so no sag yet and the tire had about 12/32" tread left, swapped out 2 months later for 225/75R16 MT/R's till I was lifted then went to 265/75R16 MT/R's.

Just noticed you list in your sig you have a '06 KJ,'06 KJ's did not come with the 45RFE trans, you have the 42RLE trans if gas or the 545RFE if you have a CRD.

Oops, meant to change that a while back.

I had gone by counting the bolt pattern on the tranny pan, going by that method I thought i had the 45RFE, but apparently not.

That pic was taken about 3 days before ThundebirdJunkie installed his lift. The sag you see is the sag you get! (That's what she said!)

and about 3 weeks after he installed those MT/R's
Plus, the only price you would be payig for the springs is "GET THEM THE F OUT OF THUNDERBIRDJUNKIE'S SWEET TOOLBOX". It is worth it to ThunderbirdJunkie to free up the extra room to just give them away.

That being said, if you're going to lift the KJ anyway, you would be wasting your time to install the prelowered springs. But like ThunderbirdJunkie said, the sag you see is the sag you get. And it'll fit 245s. It served ThunderbirdJunkie well off and on the road. That being said...

Do you not want to roll the same setup the legendary ThunderbirdJunkie once did?

Just sayin'

OOOOH Forgot! ThunderbirdJunkie has a pair of Rusty's front coils too!
