When your switching to these taller tires are you having your CPU Reflashed to compensate for the larger size? :?:

I did, makes a huge improvement. You may not be able to on a KK,some years of KJ's you could and some you could not.Plus you need a dealer tech that really knows what he is doing.

Any ideas regarding any aftermarket products to do this? My local Jeep dealer, although they've generally been great to work with and have dealt well with all my customization, isn't allowed to reflash for changes in tire sizes. I didn't clarify, but I'm guessing it comes from their private ownership.

2002 for sure, can't vouch for other years but I do know some years you can't and some years you have to input revolutions per miles while the others only have 4 choices for tire sizes(OEM sizes,215/75R16's,225/75R16,235/70R16's,and the one 17" tire size).

meh_kick, modular, and somebody else in the Cincy area successfully had their 04s reflashed for tire sizes.

Its called a "Pinion reset".

Up to 2004 generally can be done, (If the dealer says it can't, That only means "They can't" or dont know how) , it done by changing the revolutions per mile per tyre rotation. 31's set the figure for 677 revs per mile, for 32's 652 revs per mile. The "Limited" s may not have this option, but is worth a try. Also in later models it can be either the revs per mile setting or you get a list of tyre sizes to choose from, IE 235/70/16 - 245/70/16 - so on . Choose the closest size without going OVER the size you have (otherwise thats a whole new list of issues)

PLUS.... In some models to get the settings to work correctly you have to change the setting in TWO places, In the ECU for the pinion, and, in the ABS settings, you have to set the same revs per mile in BOTH areas of the computer, otherwise it wont take....

If you guys don't have this in the KK, you may also be able to get an inline adjustment module, that wires in between the rear speed sensor and the ECU, and you can tune the revs per mile in manually.
