I've even bent 2 alloy Alcoa rims I had on my F150 from towing a bit over rated weight.

"... a bit over rated weight ..."? How much is 'a bit'? Would that be something like double the rated weight?

I'm interested in off road incidences, sorry, I should have mentioned that before. So other than that buggy breaking one on the trail, has anyone else?

Probably 3-4 of those rims I broke where hitting trees/tree roots offroad.

Cast,the ones I bent where forged.

If your going forged go with Alcoa or Weld rims,they seem to be the better ones,not cheap though.

My next set of rims.

I was looking at Walker Evan beadlocks for $325, but can't find for sure if they are forged or what. Problem is I have a really hard time justifying the weight and performance gain at $300+ a wheel over a $50 per steelie.

My buddy Don has been running the Walker Evans, seems to like them really well.

They are very nice but I can't justify the money for them. I guess if I was rolling in the dough like Don I might have them...............well probably not as I am a tight wad! My cheapo's (Eagle Alloys) have held up to tons of abuse for 3-1/2 years now and I got 4 of them for right at what 1 Walker Evans cost.

A local guy GAVE me a set of Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels, set of 4. I'll try them out I guess and see what happens. They feel like they weigh half what my steelies do. The wheels have a little trail rash, but not as much as my steelies do. He ran them on his YJ with 38s and he never had any issues with them except when he would air down to 6 psi. At that low he said that he'd pop a bead occasionally. I run at 12-15 so I should be fine.
