http://www.hankooktireusa.com/product/RF10.pdf An XL rated tire. http://www.herculestire.com/catalogHerc ... -part1.pdf http://www.nokiantires.com/tyre?id=1195 ... iiva+A%2FT I've heard good things here about the Hercules and Nokian. As far as I know both of those 2 are made to Hercules and Nokian specifications by Cooper. I've never seen the RF10s on a KJ but I'm intrigued by the XL rating and in love with the way they look. Does the XL rating mean the sidewall is any sturdier for off-roading? I emailed consumer reports before their last tire test asking that they test Hercules and Nokian among others. I feel they frowned upon the idea and ignored those brands because they aren't nationally available. Also if you compare the latest All Terrain reviews to the last ones you are left kinda scratching your head because they don't seem to agree with one another on much. They both show Revos near the top with Toyos a little lower and Destinations in the middle. The reviews are worthless if they don't test the ones you are seriously looking at. I always read it and then make up my own mind anyways. Maybe they'll read this and publish an addendum. Yeah right LOL! I just wanted to rattle everyone's cages and chains here and get some feedback. I would LOVE to see a pic of the new Hankooks on a KJ. |

ThunderbirdJunkie sez: There are a few things you should learn: A: Consumer Reports is a pile of criminals who endorse what they get paid to endorse, and do so under false pretenses B: Hankook tires...ThunderbirdJunkie would not put them on a wheelbarrow C: if you're worried about strength off road, get an LT2225/75-16 MT instead of a car tire Lesson over for today:) |

The reviews from various forums that specifically mention the Hankook Dynapro ATm RF10s are good. They mention how quiet they are for an AT. I also read the review where they were compared to BFG A/Ts and Toyo Open Country A/Ts One thing that I haven't seen much of is how many miles the Hankooks would last. They are rated for 50000 miles. http://www.fourwheeler.com/techarticles ... index.html http://www.fourwheeler.com/techarticles ... rison.html No matter what Consumer Reports says I think I am smart enough to be able to read what they have to say and learn something useful from it. Their tests are not geared for someone who takes a vehicle off road and this is of virtually no concern to them. Even though they ultimately rated the Liberty last in it's size category of SUV which is their opinion not mine They did admit that The LIberty and Xterra are vehicles well suited to going off road and if my memory serves me correctly they rated the V6 version good (not very good or excellent) in all areas except gas mileage. I guess nobody has Hankook Dynapro ATm RF10s on a KJ Liberty or a wheelbarrow! |

Lots of people prefer to go to AT route... Me on the otherhand... I go all out But for AT, I don't think you could go wrong with the BFG's or Toyo's... I like the BFG's better though. |
