Hey does anybody have any ideas on how I could attach factory centercaps (seen here): http://tiny.cc/hpMdC To black steel Cragar wheels? I don't want to drill holes and use screws because I'm afraid the steelies will rust (I live in a harsh winter environment). Anybody ever use anything else to attach these? Adhesive or anything? Thanks for any ideas. |

Best bet is to drill and screw. I know you don't want to but adhesive will most likely be too thin in high temps and too brittle in low temps. Not to mention the centrifugal force that will slowly tear the adhesive away from the wheel. Just put some sealer in the screw holes and hope that keeps the rust away. I just sanded and repainted my Cragars and no rust has come back...yet. Thats the main reason I bought them..so I could just repaint them whenever I needed to. KJKev |

If your that concerned with the rust (i've had no problems in the past 16 months, even with the rain and snow of the PNW), just hit the hole you drill with a little bit of paint. It will never be seen, and it will keep the steel from the elements. Here's the write-up... http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=34957 |
