Maximum Amount of tire...

I have a 2 inch lift inwhich i will be installing shortly.. hopefully by the end of the month. my question is what is the maximum tire size i could put uner my 2003 liberty? 245/75/16? do i have to pound the pinch weld?

any suggetsions whould be helpful.

i have a frankenlift with the pinchweld pounded, with 245 75 goodyear mtrs and it doesn't rub on the body anywhere, but with my stock rene wheels it rubs on the sway bar at full lock. so i put on 1.25 spidertrax and it doesn't rub anwhere. i also trimmed the front bumper but i know it wont rub whether it is trimmed or not. It might be kind of close without the pinch weld pounded, but dont let the pinch weld scare you its too easy to do it, after deployment i'm gonna be stupid and try to put 32x11.50 15s on :twisted:

i kind of have a feeling i'm gonna rip something off but anyways goodluck

I have had 245-75-16 MTRs on mine and wasn't even close to hitting anything including the pinch weld,
On an 05 with a Rustys lift and 245-75s& Soft 8s hit the pinch weld, front lower part of the bumper etc.

so all depends

BDS Suspension Lift with Rancho RSX17505 Struts in the front....

(i got a good deal on this lift and i know it is not the beloved OME/Rancho but i have it now and it is probably better than my stock suspension with roughly 75k miles on it)

Also, Tom thanks again for all your help.

I do plan on pounding the pinch weld.. when i do that... do i just bang the flap onto one side? or just straight down.

i would like to go to 245/75/16 if i can... hopefully

BDS has a good suspension kit. You shouldn't have any issue running that size. To pound the pinch weld, just smack it to the side, and cover it with some rustoleum to prevent rust.

I have heard nothing but good from a BDS setup... and i did get it at a extemily good price...

so i should be able fit 245/75/16.....i think i am going to pound the pinch weld anyway.. is it hard to do?

Depends on the size of your arms and how big your hammer is...

pounded mine just fine with a 24 oz ball peen, a little smaller than i like but it worked just fine.

Kind of hard to get it started to bend over but once it starts it will flatten pretty easy, 3 lb sledge or so works fine, just bend back over and flatten as much as possible

You can also add 2 or 3 conduit nuts to that lift to get a little more height out of it

Keep my number handy and if you need help just call :wink:

Yep, I think you will have problems with anything over a 10.50 (265mm). And even that depends on BS of your rims. To little and rub on the swaybar, to much and you and you rub on fenders.

32's in height require a bit more work. Large amount of trimming, and you will most likely have to relocate you washer bottle.
