Does anybody run a BF Goodrich all terrain 235/85/16? If so could you post any pictures of it? Im running a 245/75/16 MT/R, but trying to get some All-Terrains that are wider. Tire shopping is a long and expensive process, and can rack your brain, Im just trying to make the right choice before buying wheels that wont fit. Help me out if you got any suggestions! Thanks! |

skinner and taller 245-75-16 are 30.5 inches tall, 9.8 inch section width 235-85-16s are 31.8, 9.3 inch section width better have a good lift If you want wider you can go to a 265-70-16 which is 30.7 inches tall and section width of 10.7, need wheels so they won't rub on the sway bar though. I have pics of mine with 255-70/245-75/265-70/ 265-75 if you need to see what they look like on 8 inch wheels |

How about a 275/70/16? I have the Rusty's 2.5in lift. See I dont really know a lot about how to read tire charts, so the 275 would be the width and the 70 would be the height? You guys have no idea how helpful this is, Thanks! |

275-70 would be a problem I would think? 31.3 inches tall but section width is 11.1 inches. Not starting with the Rustys lift but from what I have seen and installed you'll never fit the tires in there with out a bunch of work, the width and heighth will get you , then the gas mileage. On mine never really noticed much difference in power and gas mileage until I went past a 30.5 inch tall tire. With stock gears and the lift 265-70s would be about all I would go , they look pretty wide if thats what you want rear shot with 265-70s and 8 inch wide Moab

Yeah I like the way yours looks a lot, its clean and looks great! I think Im going to have to go with the 265/70. I just hope they fit my Cragar Soft 8's. I think they are 16x7, but not 100% sure. Like I said Im legally retarded when it comes to rims and tires! |

I am looking at BFGoodrich A/Ts Both are 31.7" The widths are different the 235s are 9.4" width 265s are 10.6" width What are reasons to go wider or thinner? This will still be my daily driver and I do tow in the summer. |

DJs - I guess a big question is : Why do you want to go wider? If it is just to get a specific look, using spacers to move the current tires out might give you the look you are after. E2: As to why wider or thinner: there are advanatges to both. A bigger, heavier tire/rim combo adds unsprung weight which aids traction off-road, especially in soft stuff. However, unsprung weight is a huge killer to both MPG & speed performance. A narrower tire, despite "common knowledge," actually aids in traction in mud, deep snow, etc... unless you are making huge wheelspeed to skim over the top. Unless your towing something that puts too great a load on your rear tires ( probably not) there is probably no need for you to change tire size other than looks as the off-road advantages are not one of your criteria. You do not mention the lift that the 265's would require. Tire sizing for metric tires 245 = width in millimeters - higher # means wider 75 = sidewall ratio: sidewall is 75% of width - higher #= taller 16 = rim diameter- higher number means taller |

Just throwing this out there... I am running BFG AT 32x11.50x15 on Cragar Black D's with 4" BS with my Daystar lift. Still running stock 3.73 gears and not having any problems. I just trimmed the front fender liners and pounded pinch weld is about all that was necessary to clear.... |

Nice looks. A little to wide for me. Thinking of going with the 235s just as the adv and disadvantages of the 265s are not enough. |
