Does anyone know if the sotck tire size of 235/70/16 fits the Moabs that came with the 245/75/16's?

I would say too wide, I wouldn't want to run it most 235-70s call for a 6 to 7 at the most wide wheel
Of course you know someones done it

If your looking for something that wont rub without a lift, how about 255x65R16. They are 29.2" tall and 8" wide

No concern with rubbing. I have the 4" lift on. Just want to have a daily driving tire so I save wearing out the off-roading tires. Too expensive and they are not that great in this weather.

I'm looking at the Revo2's but in stock size. I have the Moab wheels though. May have to go with 245/75/16's though.

Check the tire manufacturer's web site - if you look at their recommendations
most don't even want a 245 on an 8" rim - they recommend 7" or 7.5" - the MTR was special and 8" was max
for an 8" rim you should be looking at 255 or 265 tire.
although that's also a function of the tire sidewall - a stiffer Load D or E the wheel needs a closer match to the rim
some of the Standard load tires have wider range because the sidewalls flex more.
but what you're trading is the tire wear patterns -
you may never get good tire wear on a 235 on an 8" rim - but if it's a winter only tire - it might be a reasonable trade off.

If you want good tire wear pattern i.e. expensive winter tires in the narrower tread for snow
you might consider a cheap set of 7" rims -
(or there have been some folks running 215/85/16 - those would be better on a 6")

Looking not just for snow but rain also. These Maxxis Bighorns are not very good in rain and snow. It could be due to the 4" lift and how they were able to get it aligned also.
Revo's are rated way up there for snow/rain. KO's are another option but I think the "P" Revo's will also be more comfortable and quieter than the KO's for Daily Driving.

The snow is DEEP here today and more coming down. LOVE IT!!!

I have the stock P rated 235’s on my KJ at the moment, and they do really well in the snow, regardless of the bad traction they offer. And the XJ has 225 P rated tires, and they are also awesome in the snow. Seems like the narrow tires are definitely the trick for deep snow. I tried my 245’s on Moabs and I had poor traction even with the Load E Revo’s.

I'm confused. you have a 4 inch lift yet you want stock size tires on a MOAB rim? why not just find a AT or all season tire in the same 245/75/16 size so you don't look funny with short tires and a big lift?

Perhaps a Kuhmo Road Venture SAT KL61?

Actually the SL rated Rev's list an 8" rim for 235/70 or 245/70

and if you check Pablo's cardomain pictures - he did some reasonable trails on SL Rev's

so they're not a bad compromise.

That's the ticket, it seems more logical to buy a separate set of rims (such as the cragars in a 15X7 or 16X7) and run a 235 or 225. Keep the Moabs for your off-road tire. I have Moabs, Stock KJ wheels, Stock XJ wheels, and 15X7 Cragar's that I run on my KJ and XJ. I have a wheel/tire combo for every occasion.
