I was in the shop the other day and got to looking at my tires pretty good and when i measured them they were about 29 1/2 tall............. Goodyear says they should be 30.9" just wanted to know what others are getting for height. Mine are on the stock Renny wheels so any other stock wheel will compare well. Thanks |

The older style 245/75/16 Mtr's on my sons truck with less than 1000 miles on them measure just a hair over 30 inches. |

Thanks. Hopefully I can get a couple more measurements but maybe that is just the way they are. mine have probably 12k on them. |

Mine measure right at 30.5", where they should be. Here's the math: 245 millimeters converts to 9.65 inches. That's the width of the tire. Your aspect ratio of 75 means the sidewall is 75% of the 9.65 inches, or 7.23 inches. Add your 7.23 inches TWICE to the 16" stock rim diameter, since the tire's diameter passes through the sidewall twice. That's 16 + 7.23 + 7.23 or 30.46 inches. Round 'er up to 30.5.

I want to say I was told they were a 29.5 when I purchased them. That was for a 245/70/16. So I would say that a 245/75/16 would be just a bit bigger and that would sound about right. |

Do you think 245/75r16 (30.5") are a good height?? I was looking at 265/75r16 (31.7") but found out re-gearing is a much needed thing. |

I've been rolling on 265/75's for nearly 2 years with the stock 3.73's. If you have a lead foot, or are in the mountains a lot you'll feel it more. Myself, I think the KJ still makes more than enough power. I've wheeled and driven in it in SoCal, the PNW, and the NE (and everywhere in between). She runs just fine. The 4.10's would be nice, but I'll do it when I finally put the lockers in. |

One more thing would you give up three ply sidewall on the BFG (54#)for a lighter tire Yoko's (49.6#). about 4.5# each tire? or maybe 235/85r16 as the BFG then is 49# just as the Yoko's Thanks. |

The 32's that I've wheeled on for the past 2 years have been 'P' rated. I would find the lightest tire with the best tread I could. With the towing 2200 #'s isn't that much weight, I'm able to pull the 5000 # travel trailer with no problem at all, like I said earlier depends on where you go. If you hit the mountains you'll feel it more than at sea level. |

Going to 265-75s kills power for sure, where I live it's pretty flat so not too bad on power arund here, but as soon as I hit the hills down home its OD off unless I want it shifting every 3 minutes and running 55 at 1300 RPM, not good. Just waiting to get my rear 4.10s in so I can use OD again everywhere.

Seems like a few people have the larger tires 31.7" tall but have not re-geared, yet. Can 245/75r16 work for offroading they are 30.5" so only 1/2" tire lift from stock tires not like the 31.7" which is slightly more than 1" tire lift. Thanks for all your input as you can see not much of a 4x4'r yet! But I do tow 2000# every so often in summer from LA to Laughlin. |

Even when I was in Colorado, never had to many issues unless trying to climb a mountain road, wish it would have more power there. |
