i would say it depends on what kind and how much off roading you will do. as for size, i would definitely stick with 245/75 in your situation. i currently have a/t and wish i would have gotten m/t from the start. with the sand, mud, clay and muck water we have in florida i wish i woulda gone m/t from the beginning. now i have an excuse to upgrade and go larger.

What do you mean by "stick with 245/75 in your situation" I have a 4" lift. A 6" will not make anymore room. Their is plenty of clearance at the top. The sides of the wheel-well don't flare out enough. A new bumper in front may take care of the front issue, but on the other side their is no moving anything as behind the plastic covering is metal. If you mean my my situation of gearing then yep its up to me if I want to spend all the that money to get a 1/2" more clearance that the 31.7" will give versus the 30.5" or 30.7" min. $1500 to $1800 for re-gearing and a roof rack to hold the big tire or $1900 to $2200 for re-gearing and a hitch rack for the big tire. So as of today looking at the 245/75r16 and then us the other money for custom rock rails and a roof-rack with shovel, gas cans, and hi-lift. I can always later get 32" and re-gear. the other stuff is needed too.
