So if you spend $800 bucks on tires, they'll give you $20 bucks? That's not much of a "sale". With the Goodyear name on the tire...they need to do 50% off or something like that to generate any interest. Almost every single Goodyear tire they sell is the lowest rated tire in it's class by people who have had them. |

LiberyCRDgood comments about the Goodyears. You need to try out for Leno After having the stock tires ( crap) then Firestone Destination ATs / Kumho's KL78s and BFG ATs on mine the Goodyear Duratracs are wearing the best, and do far better than any of the ones I have ran so far. Good year does make some crap tires, but so do all the rest! Just saying Oh and I got mine locally for a better price than Tirerack |

Those prices are better than the local duratrack prices. My reviews of GY, also: SR/A's: Beyond suck and deadly on wet pavement ST's: See SR/A's OE MT/R's: sucky wear and balance issues and horrible wet pavement traction GS/A's: Get Stuck Anywhere is appropo Hardly an exhaustive list though |

all above are the cheap ones GY puts out. I was a huge fan of BFG for a long time, even when I sold other brands and could get better prices. I went with the GY Duratracs after doing a bunch of reading/research/ etc they are wearing great and would buy another set unlike BFGs which I never will again |

You, and another guy. And the other guy says they spin in the rain and get squirrely pretty fast in bad weather....which is pretty believable to me because that is the #1 complaint people have about ALL Goodyear truck tires. They are down right dangerous. Not to mention they are usually difficult to balance and wear too fast. But....I'm glad you are happy with your set. To me...if I had $150 to spend on a tire, I'd pick the Michelin LTX AT2 which is the premium tire in it's class. |

I've personally never liked GY, just seem to wear horribly fast. The Stock ST's had to be one of the worst tires ever made, just terrible. That said, everyone has their opinions... I hear many people say how good the Bridgestone Dueler Revos are.... those are the worst tire I've ever ran..., but that's my opinion. I also hated the BFG AT's I had on my Astro, spun in the rain constantly. So, for what it's worth, someone may say this is a good tire while someone else will say it's horrible. I like my Toyos, have always like the Dayton line of tires.... who knows what I will get next.

NEVER unless its a high end sports car. Dayton has always been a great line of tires, I used to sell a ton of them when I had the tire shop. Great tire. Bridgestones suck wind plan and simple. |

I too was never a fan of Goodforayears for several reasons, wear, an traction issues.... BUT I have to say I've had these Dura-tracs on for a while now and well, these things rock!! Traction is great, looks too.. sound is not bad at all.... Now don't get it twisted, I'm not saying the rest of Goodyears tires don't suck but these are an exception... I just hope Goodyear isn't making it good just to start, then lower the quality an not price once they get people hooked on the model... |

I am not sure who decides "classes," but I don't know anyone who has ever liked a Michelin unless it was on a pavement pounder. Their main product line does not even include a true off-road tire. Although not a fan of Goodyear, it is hard to compare the two tires as they have very different attributes as the LTX line are only "off-road" tires if you mean that you are "off the road" because the road is not concrete or asphalt but gravel or dirt. Even then, pray it doesn't rain. |

They are getting loud, ride hard, off road is horrible (well of any highway tire) and I have to use 4 full time on wet pavement frequently... If I have $150 for a tire, Dura Trac, or Silent Armor... |

The House-brand alternative to the Duratrac is apparently the Kelly Safari TSR. Might be worth a look.... |

They are an aggresive A/T with large voids that extend the width of the tires before exiting the tread ( as large as some M/T's...maybe you have to see them in person) while have plenty of siping and serious rim protection features and sidewall treads. While not an exact tread copy (duh), the idea is the same and so, apparently, is the function? |

http://www.goodyeartires.com/cfmx/web/goodyeartiresel/details.cfm?mrktarea=Light%20Truck&product=366&ms= From a post I made in May of 2010: Quote: really like my Wrangler Silent Armors, they are LT225 75R 16's and they cost me ~.5mpg +/-. They are D rated tires and should last me about 60k with my driving. They are also snowflake rated. They are as good as I want for snow and mud and are good in the rain too. I learned the hard way that they do get loud if you neglect rotating them. As far as the maintenance, make up a laundry list from the manual and call more than one dealer and ask for a quote. In my area, it is more than worth the 75 mile round trip than to literally drive down the block for the large service appointments. Parts are cheaper too. I shopped around for tires too. Saved $5-35/tire (with warranty, which they honored upon contact with a nail) vs. other locations. I bought mine at Tire Barn (no, I have no affiliation nor do I receive a commission nor will I garner their votes) Boilermaker2 I still stand behind the quote, am still running the same tire and am going to get through AT LEAST one more winter with them.
