I have been looking at the treadwright tires and was wondering if people that had some could tell me what they thought of them. such as how do they ride ,and how long they last for, also if they are loud. thanks. |

They're great for me so far. As far as noise, depends on which tread you get. I presently have the T/A's and they are quiet. Had the MT/R's previously and they were a bit growly which is the main reason I got rid of them. Not necessary for my kind of on and/or off-roading (mostly beach). |

I have the Guard Dog's and they are quieter than the real MT/R's. The tread pattern is a bit more compressed. I have had them now for about 6 months and have been totally happy. Have been wearing good, haven't chunked like crazy in the rocks, no problems. They do run big though; mine are about an inch bigger than the GY's they replaced. If you do decide to order them, order them over the phone. The ladies in the office at TW were super helpful and answered all my questions, made sure I would have a matching set of sidewalls, and went out of their way to make sure they would ship in time for a trip I had planned. Superb customer service. |

Have been running the Crawlers for over a year. Very happy with them. They roar a little, redneck mating call. |

Are they loud? Yes. I've run the Wardens and Guard Dogs, and both were loud as he*1. How long do they last? A long time. Average use is 40K miles which is comparable or slightly better than most "new" tires. How do they ride? Superb...after putting a few pounds of weights on them. When I leave the tire shop with TreadWrights, my wheels are decorated with lots of bling. LOL. But...once the weights are on, the tires ride smooth as a baby's butt. For the money, you cannot beat them. Period. The ONLY complaint I have is they are almost all load range "E", which is WAY too heavy for a Jeep and will destroy your fuel economy and power. Otherwise I'd be running them right now again. |

I only run load range "E" tires... you have strange ideas. |

The effects of additional unsprung weight are well documented, but it is not like "e" range tires are a huge inconvenience, IMHO. |

A steel wheel with a 31" TreadWright tire can weigh close to 100 lbs. How is that not an inconvenience? Strange ideas? Strange idea is running a 1-ton truck tire on a compact Jeep. Edit: I stand corrected. A 245/75-16 TreadWright (easily 55 lbs.) on a 30 lb. steel wheel with air, wheel weights, etc. is around 90 lbs. Not 100. My bad. |

Dude not this again. You come in on every tire thread with your love of P rated street tires. I have seen first hand what razor sharp rocks can do to street tires, its not pretty. There is a reason the vast majority of all the guys and gals on here with lifted KJ's run load range E tires: 1. The most common size that fits is 245/75/16 and the most common load range in that size is E. It is a very popular light duty pickup size. Which is odd because if so many people "stayed away" from LR E tires you think that there would be other LR's in this size, not the majority of tires in this size offered only in E. 2. Many enjoy the extra protection these tires bring to the table. I have chunked sidewalls, ripped off tread blocks, left smoking piles of rubber, and all around used and abused my tires. I would not have tried have the things I've done if I had lesser tires. More plys, more strength, more abuse it can take. Now of course these aren't perfect and yes the weight isn't the greatest and running bigger tires does effect fuel economy, but so what. If you didn't realize this in the first place... If power and fuel economy were my greatest concerns I would get a Corvette; which I would like to have but unfortunately not as practical as the KJ. I find it funny that almost everyone with a lifted KJ (not counting those CRD bassturds So, E rated tires do have there place on 4,000+ pound "compact" Jeeps. You can enjoy your car tires all you want but you are pretty much preaching to the deaf over here. And I already know you wheel the hardest trails that are littered with shards of glass, nails, and the razor sharps bones of the mythical minotaur with your P rated tires and they hold up awesome and are the greatest thing ever and only P rated tires should be on Libertys; yes yes we have heard it all before on EVERY other tire thread. It is just no one agrees with you. |

Quicksilversurf917 wrote: But in all seriousness will the 31 mtr replica treadwrights weigh a lot? Definitely. Weight has kiled my power and mpgs. Which is why I'm getting rid of my steel rims for Moabs and load C Goodyear Duratracs. Tires come today, install tomorrow. |

Quicksilversurf917 wrote: But in all seriousness will the 31 mtr replica treadwrights weigh a lot? Yes they are heavy as **** . There is a reason why "E" tires are only put on 7,500 lb. 1-ton diesel trucks from the factory, and not passenger vehicles such as Jeeps, contrary to what some folks on LOST seem to believe. I'm not trying to deter you from buying TreadWrights. They are great tires. Just know what you're getting into going in. |

I have Treadwrights on mine, and the one complaint I have is that they are super soft. They won't last as long as regular tires, you can just feel how soft the rubber is. With that said, they're a great deal. I screwed mine up because I hit a guardrail and couldn't get an alignment for about 3 weeks (broke and in college). In that 3 weeks the tread on the front two tires got so screwed up it was unbelievable. On one tire the difference in height on side by side tread differed about half an inch (if that makes sense)... Yeah, pretty crazy. I know it was my own fault but that was a bit extreme. I still liked the tires though. Unfortunately I had to blow all of my money and buy a new car yesterday and give the Jeep back to my mom haha. |

I bought the Puma 255x70x16 and Just had mine put on. They feel a bit more heavy than the yoko geolanders that were on them. However on my kj they are a lot quieter. I dont know how long they will last, this is my first set. They are awsome at the price and i would buy them again. Maybe after the lift i will put on the Guard Dogs 265x70x16. |
