Grabber AT 2 (studded)
245/75R16
$850 / 4 (tires only)

Altimax Arctic (studded)
245/75R16
$670 / 4 (tires only)

Cooper Discoverer M/S (studded)
245/75R16
$720 / 4 (mounted and balanced)

which would be the best option for winter tires?

also -

currently I have a 2.5" lift with 245/70R16 tires. Will the larger size be any problem? I don't want any rubbing.

Have never seen the tread design of the General Altimax Artic before but I assume its a winter/snow tire which should mean its better, will have softer tread compound and wear faster though.
Cooper makes a good tire and would be my choice over the Grabber

I had some General Grabbers on for about a month. I think that may have been worse than the Wrangler ST's that cam on my KJ. Got rid of them as soon as possible. I have Cooper Discoverer ATR right now. They seem to be great tires. Worked well in the monsoon we had last week - a foot or more of rain in 2 days.

I just installed General Grabber AT2's and love them. Replaced Goodyear MT/R's. Not that it was much of a contest, but the AT's are much better in the rain. Tirerack.com rates the General Grabber AT's very highly.

Size 235x85R16

Does anyone have the AT2s studded? I already have AT2s without studs. I've had them mounted for like 4 years now. I need a winter tire now...

You do know that once you run a tire you can not install studs in them. You can only stud brand new tires

As you can see in the first post, I want to get one size bigger. Has anyone run Grabber AT2s with studs?
