My KJ came with aftermarket 255/55-18 tires on it. They have a max 50PSI rating. I have been running them at 40PSI and was wondering if this was correct. Is it to high, to low, just right?

I would think that's right. Figure the pressure goes up naturally as you drive and goes up even higher in warmer weather. Do you have any pics of your ride with those wheels. I was always thinking of getting 18" rims.

They look good. Bigger rims and there's still plenty of rubber wrapped around.

Very nice! I have been considering the same size for summer wheels.

The 255/55-18 is almost exactly the same diameter as the stock wheels/tires. However you might want to consider something like a 235/65-18 instead. I think I am getting a bit of rubbing on tight turns so a narrower tire might be a good idea.

I was looking at 245/60/18 actually.

This is good to know since I was thinking of getting 255/65/16 on my stock rims. So instead a 245/70/16 would be better with no rubbing issues.
