Post subject:  ??265/70 on cragar soft 8s

Ok i have been reading and searching all over this forum and the internet for about a month now,and just cant get some sort of straight answer. So since it about time to be making the purchase figured it would be a good time to make a post, and if it has been talk about or gone over before my sincerest apologies. But this is what i got

Now i have 245/70 on the stock renny wheels, with a 2.5" lift

I want to go with 265/70 and get Cragar soft 8 16x7 w/ 4" bs

Now does anyone have this set up or know of anyone, and perhaps what kind of issue they or you might have had
Or would i be better off staying with the stock rims or are 265/70 be to big for the stock rims as far as rubbing issues
The main reason for wanting to switch rims to is later on down the road i would be redoing my lift over to a franky style instead of my daystar and a little bit for looks too.
:juggle:
Cause i figured if i end up staying with the stock rims, i would then go with 245/75 cause the 245/70 on my stock rims before i was lifted i had little to no rubbing at all

Basically i what would you do if you were in my predicament :banghead: , any info or advise would be much appreciated

I have 265-70-16's on stock size rims and they fit fine. With the 265's it rubbed on the upper control arm, so i ordered 1.25 spacers for each hub and that brought it out plenty to avoid any rubbing... on the control arm :ROTFL: . After they were spaced out, naturally it hit the pinch weld and the fog light door. pounded pinch and a cut out foglight door later, only VERY slight rubbing when the suspension is under articulation(or compressed for ifs?).

Decent set of 245-75-16s on the stock wheels and be done, no problems
will be money saved
unless you have to have the Soft 8 look

Tom i think i going to take your advise with going with the 245-75-R16
But if i did go with the cragars for that size tire with the 4'' bs, due you think i would have many problems there cause i do plan on cutting my stock bumper first and willing to trim to a certain amount in the rear meaning not too ridiculous :ROTFL:

irollgen4s, i just think im trying to go a route with out using spacers if i can and if not well i cross that bridge when i get there :5SHOTS:
By then ill be thinking bigger lift :jester:

go with a 16 x 7 4 inch back spacing and you may have some rub but its workable
( depending of course how much you springs have settled )

I run 265/70s on stock rims with spacers and get no rubbing at all. Just pound the pinch weld.
