Post subject:  Mamba MR-1s and Cooper STTs
I have just received my new Mamba MR-1s from Quadratec (16 x8", 5" Backspace, and the 5 on 4.5 pattern). These are the MOAB clones (at half the price). These will be my outback touring and Jeep Jamboree/event type wheels and I will use the stock KJ alloys and the D694s for the more mundane daily driver stuff (especially as the D694s are now wearing down). I am hearing that many tire places ( here in Australia) will not mount 245/75s on 8" rims, apparently due to bead popping when aired down (and we do a fair bit of that here when travelling in the outback). So I am considering Cooper STTs in 255/70s (and other choice would be KM2s but they are very expensive here). Cooper recommendation for the 255s says OK on 8" rims. Anyone running Copper STTs in that size on Mambas?

Don't be concerned about clearance issue - I have a 3" lift and a TJM bar with trimmed wheel wells.

Looks VERY nice. I had a set of those STTs when they were new about 7 years ago and I loved them.

I really like the Mamba wheels. I wish they made them in a 16X7 instead of 16X8. They look good on your Jeep. 8)
