I can now say that I have wheeled both types of these tires from Treadright. The Howlers win hands down! I should have stuck with them instead of getting the Guard Dogs. Well, I did want to try them so I guess I only have myself to blame.

What about noise level? Are the Howlers really LOUD? Cause I've run the Guard Dogs and they were fairly loud.

How do these tires hold up? Would they hold up on a 2,400 round trip?

They will hold up fine. I drove back and forth from AZ to MI, 4000 mile roundtrip, without an issue. My Guard Dog's now have well over 20K miles.

So the Howlers are a lot better huh? What kind of terrain you wheeling in Fulltimer? Mud and such? I have noticed the GD's aren't the best in the mud; they get all packed and turn into slicks pretty quick. I try to avoid the mud as much as possible. The GD's have been great in the rocks though. Probably going to need new tires around winter time and might have to try out the Howlers...

The Howlers deserve their name! They are a lot louder than the Guard Dogs. But that is because they are a better off road tire due to the better lug spacing. I was in mud that has limestone gravel mixed in. Then a very steep hill that had rocks and mud. I was in an off road park. I have been through that same park with the Howlers and did a better job then. The Guard Dogs did clog up with mud and didn't clean out very well. I also had aired down the tires.

I think they would have done a lot better under dry conditions. They don't make as much road noise on the highway as Howlers...which is kind of nice.

Edit: I did do better than the Land Rover and a stock Wrangler and height had not effect. Thumbs up for the Libby!
