Sears has 2 diff Bridgestones in stock. I need tires now (1 plugged already and just found a bolt stuck in another).
P23570S16s
One is a "DUELER APT III (123.99)
and the other is a
"DLR HT" (113.99).
Any ideas on these?
DUELER APT III P235/70R16
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=AUTO&pid=09563813000&tab=spe#tab
Found this on the HT:
Quote:
The Dueler H/T is constructed to be a quiet ride, since the target vehicles are mainly used for every-day transportation needs. To that end, the Dueler H/T has a rounded profile, which keeps the relatively noisy tread edges off the road, and a tread pattern made up of small blocks oriented parallel to the direction of travel.

Bridgestone’s designing the Dueler H/T as essentially a passenger tire pretty much precludes regular use of H/T-equipped vehicles on rugged surfaces (regular off-roading, for instance) or to power through heavy snowfalls. There are plenty of other tires – and, more to the point, other vehicles - out there for such purposes. These tires are made for on-the-road touring, and though they function well in all seasons, they’re best on dry roads.

And this on the APTIII
Quote:
The Dueler APT III offers a more aggressive all-terrain design without sacrificing a smooth comfortable highway ride. Your search for a tire that delivers both stylish highway driving and off-road performance ends with the Dueler APT III.

Looks like I want the APTIII.
Are these decent tires?

Not sure about the APT's, but the HT's come factory on the Toyota Highlander (my mom has one). It doesn't look like anything I would want to take off-road. Looks like the equivalent of my stock GoodYear Wrangler ST's

Hope this helps.

The dueler APTIII's are very close to revos, just a bit diff sidewall construction I believe. Any chance you can wait 3-4 days and have some shipped from tire rack? That would be your better bet.

If i could find someplace to mount them i would. none of the chain stores will mount anything they don't sell.

I just saw a set of ATPIII's on a KJ the other day. They looked quite nice. Better than they do in the picture. They would be my choice.

Went to a different Sears today and saw the actual tires. The APT looks very similar to the Revo. They have them for $117.79 each plus mounting & includes lifetime rotation. I may just go for em. They had 4 other tires in the same range but they all looked basically like the stock tires. The next closest was a "Dunlop Radial Rover" for $100 each.
