Just ordered these from Tire Rack, 235/75/16, Dunlop Radial Rover RVXT (Off Road All-Terrain.) I guess it's a little late to ask, but anyone have any experience with them? (My 245/75/16 Goodyear MTRs (off a Rubicon) are just a bit too loud for the wife on the road, anyone interested in some used MTRs??!!) |

Never had these but I have had 2 sets of the Rover AT's. One is on my wife's SUV currently. They have been good tires and they are priced well. Dunlop is owned by Goodyear and I have seen some of the Goodyear technology showing up in the Dunlop tires. |

Thanks, that's good to know. I figured I'd give them a try. Got 'em for $89 each and they have the size I wanted...not sure why it's such an odd size 235/75/16. The 245/75 MTRs rubbed a little even with my 2.5 RR lift, I'm thinking that since these are just a bit smaller (about 1/2 inch) and a little less wide, they might fit nice and snug without the rub. I'll let you know. Looks like I might have them on tomorrow. |

Ok, I've had them for about a week now and there is no rubbing whatsoever. They are really quiet on the road.. will hopefully test them out in the rain (if it ever rains again!) and off-road in the near future. They aren't 245/75 MTRs, but they look much better than those stock Goodyears! |

Looks great. You are right I rub with the 245s but I'll fix that. |

Where do they rub? Should I worry about stuffing the tire really good when wheeling? |

From what I gathered on here.. You will have to pound down the pinch weld in the front wheel wells... Not sure of other places.. I am looking at putting on 245/75R16 tires soon.... I am glad I got a sawzall for Christmas... Ben |

The whole tire thing is the most confusing thing anyone talks about....I don't understand how some people rub with 245/75 while others run 265/75 and say they don't rub. |

I agree with you.. But I think it has to do with the type of tire you are going to run.. From what I have gathered, if you run an MT style tire as in the MT/R, BFG Mud Terrian, etc in a size of 245/75R16 or bigger tire.. Then some trimming is needed.. If you run an AT style tire.. Like the Revo, AT KO's, etc then a 245/75R16 should fit without trimming but if you go any bigger then you will need to trim... The bigger and more aggresive the tread.. The more you will have to trim... Please.. Someone jump in and correct me if I am wrong... I am still new at this for the KJ.. On my YJ.. Lift fit.. If no fit, just cut.. LOL I don't have my lift on yet and I am still up in the air about which tires I want to run... Ben |

So 31" is not necessarily 31"?...That's like the stupid 6th grader joke about "Which weighs more a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?". So if you get to 31" with toothy tread you have to trim but if you get to 31" with a more civilized tread you don't? Madness! |

All tires vary quite a bit from manufacturer to manufacturer--sometimes quite a bit. One company's 31x10.50 tire will probably be slightly different from anothers. The comapny websites usually list the actual dimensions on their spec sheets. Tirerack.com has that info also. |

I moved from the 245/75/16 MTRs cause they rubbed a little but were really loud on the road. I only get to off-road a couple times a year, so they didn't make sense for me. Looking at this site, I calculated this: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html 245/75/16 were 30.5 inches in diameter 235/75/16 are 29.9 inches in diameter. I shaved off about 1/2 inch in diameter and 1 cm from the width. -- all is well without cutting or pounding. I have a 2003 Liberty Sport 4x4. I have no idea why some folks rub with them and some don't. I do know that 2002 Libbys are about an inch or two taller than the 2003, so I'm sure that plays a part. Not sure about other years. |

Be careful. One company's 245/75 r15 will be different from anothers. For example Swampers seems to run big, BFG's slightly small. |

Yeah.. I was looking at the sizes and specs on lot of tires.. GY MT/R 245/75R16 - Dia is 30.7", sec width is 9.3" BFG AT KO 245/75R16 - Dia is 30.5" , sec width is 9.8" Revo 245/75R16 - Dia is 30.7", sec width is 9.8" So looking at these figures.. Revo's are just as tall as the MT/R's and as wide as the BFG AT KOs.. so Revo's would rub more for the same size of the 3 tires.. So for the least amount of cutting.. I think I am going to go with the AT KO's from the looks of the specs.. Also.. The BGF AT KOs are a load rating of E which is a heavier thicker tire.. Better for offroading with.. HTH Ben By the way.. I am putting on a Frankinlift before I get the larger tires... Without that.. any of those sizes would rub... |
