flexing with 265/75

i'm looking for another set of tires, i have 245/75's now. I was thinking of going with 265/75(still on stock rims)
how bad will they rub and will I still be able to flex as much as the 245's

2. No, cause you'll stuff your rear sooner. but the difference is less than an inch

JFortier777- i read your post on that other site about your cragers and tie setup, how are the 265's? I love the look of you truck, but everyone is saying go with 245's, whats your opinion? do they rub bad? do you off road and how intense etc?

Just installed the frankenlift. Now they only rub when Ill climbing things, and only at full turn.

The 265s are going to almost demand a liner mod up front. I've trimmed a good portion of the liner and carved off the lower half of my front bumper as well. (Stupid plastic bumper :evil:

) This took care of all rubbing in the front other than a bit of rubbing at full lock. Nothing to be concerned about.

The rear liners are rubbed at full stuff which could be taken care of if I ever got around to putting a heat gun back there and pushin'em out of the way. I'm running these fairly aggressive tires on the stock (upgraded) rims. I've never had a single regret. The only thing else I'd do to my tire/wheel setup is perhaps add spacers or move to a wheel with a different backspacing to give a wider stance.

I've got 265/75R16 tires on my KJ. The larger tires will rub in three places in the front: the sway bar, the air dam/front of the wheel well, and the back of the wheel well. To stop the rubbing on the sway bar install some 1.25" wheel spacers (Spidertrax WHS-002). The stop the rubbing on the back of the wheel well, cut off the plastic pinch weld cover, hammer over the pinch weld, and then cover all of the bare metal with undercoating. To stop the rubbing on the front of the wheel well you'll need to devise some way to pull the front of the well forward into the front bumper. You'll also need to trim out some of the air dam where it rubs. This is all possible and still looks completely stock. You should only get slight rub when the wheels are turned to the extremes. As for the back tires, they fit fine, although they do stuff off road, not that it hurts anything. You'll probably also want to put the spacers on the rear wheels as well for symmetry (probably other reasons as well). The spacers are just the right size for my Renegade that the wheels don't project past the flares and throw road crap up on the car. When I was at the Jeep Jamboree yesterday they didn't want me to do any of the medium to difficult trails unless I had at least 31" tires. The 265's were very helpful, although, the other Liberty on the trail with me seemed to do fine with his 245's.

Aren't the 265/75s almost a 32" tire?

With my 265's I just pulled out the front liners and thats all they didnt rub to bad after that. They are so worth it.

It's not required that you use wheel spacers but they do stop rubbing on the sway bar and make the tire look much cooler in the fender flares :twisted:
