i believe he is referring to having the motor rebuilt
It been a few years now but by the insurance companies the average life span of a "sport bike" was 5000 miles before it was crashed and hurt/killed the operator.

Now I'm confused.

BTW...fastest I've had my KJ was about 90...unintentionally. i was hard on the brakes going downhill out of flagstaff on I17S with a heavy trailer and about pooping myself and coming perilously close to guardrails.
(in case anybody was wondering...)
the 112 mph shutoff is because of the S-rated factory tires...which is a max of 112 mph

Digger you need a bike alright :D How did we get on the topic of bikes anyways.... did I post something about speeding on a bike and it got deleted? I can't remember... no really did I ?!?

On the topic of Libby speed, I sold my Mazdaspeed Miata for my KK because I was driving too fast in it. I'm happy to say I drive slower and in the left lanes now that I'm a heavy SUV. Not to say that if the perfect time presents itself I won't push it to it's max

Christopher brought up the bike thing.. i will say that i do drive slower now to...before it was like i was at the drag strip with my 81 gmc c1500 305 cid motor...i know the motor was small but it would haul balls in first and second..then once you got it in to third..and waited for the power band, it would cook...now i use my cruise a who lot....

oh, well since I wasn't the one to bring it up, I've got to 165 on a motorcycle...what's really scary isn't going that fast but trying to slow down safely. I don't even want to think about going that fast in something as aerodynamic as a brick.

here you go, this guy was doing a wheelie and the front wheel didn't come down until about 140 mph.

he went in excess of 220 mph @ 10,000 RPM.

the guy definitely has more balls than I do

I met a friend of my stepsister's with a CBR1000RR a couple months ago. he made fun of my slow GS550E, saying things like "haha, my bike can go almost 200, and that thing probably can't go 130". He also didn't own a lick of safety gear, mostly the one INSIDE his head...common sense.

about a month ago he wound up as a grease stain on the pavement. Cops estimated 150-160 mph at the point of impact. Empty road, nobody else around.

It's always important to know your limit and wear gear. At high speeds, one mistake will cost you your life...

There is something wrong with your KJ then. Mine holds 90MPH just fine.

I hope you do not run 5200rpms very long as thats not good for the engine. You may want to keep some spare valve springs laying around too.

:)

jeepjeepster, im not crazy. of course i dont keep it at 5200 rpm very long. just the 75.86 miles to get back from the springs! its just extremely loud and i have to yell at my passengers to hold a conversation. its completely fine and considered normal operation.

Nope. Wasn't an open-casket funeral either.

Ride a slow bike, the fat chicks can catch up easier

KJ4ME, have you had your KJ to the stealership to get that holding speed issue resolved?
