I really like the MOPAR bumper guard, would make a great light mount. But they are asking WAY too much for it IMO.

I like the leather armrest as well.

how much money did the stealership asked you to special build yours?

dealership should not ask/charge anything extra to build one, they just send the order in :? :? :? :?

Are they only building blinged out versions now?

Well, you ask for it... The dealer had only a couple of sports (08) and about 2 or 3 limiteds (08's also) ALL OF THEM WERE 4X2... I REALLY WANTED A 4x4! So I said to myself "SELF, if you are going to special order a 4x4 why dont you add all the options?" And I thought it was a good idea... though the dealer asked for a $4000 deposit
I know it was a bit much but meh! what the hell they are the only ones here in laredo TX and im kinda lazy to drive up to Sn Antonio
Anyhooow
there it is =)

Ha! thanks! Ive always bought silver cars/trucks... I think its a good color for resale, looks and also its not a very dirty color (i.e. black... man those are hard to keep clean)
Have you posted pics of your KK stratamet?

The vehicle was MRSP at $31,190 to start. I got employee pricing plus $2,000 back, plus my trade in ($2,350...which considering it was an SUV with doors nearly falling off, seats that are torn, steering that is shaky, old tires, missing parts, electronic problems etc, etc).

Basically, I got it for $27,000 after taxes (+ 8%), discount (-), bargaining/bickering (-), and trade in (-). Seemed like a good deal at the time.

HID's in a Halogen housing isn't a good idea. Conversion kits are illegal for a reason... they reduce your usable light output, have a terrible pattern, and generally don't cut off well enough and get in other driver's eyes.

If you want HID I'd get true HID running lights and mount them to your bumper guard.

Ive read this before and Im aware of the issue: BUT
back when I had my charger halogen lights wouldn't do it. When I installed the HIDs on it I really saw a difference, since it improved the light output A LOT!
Ive read here that the lights of the libby are not good enough for everyday driving: I guess Ill wait until I have it and see for myself if I really need more light output;.

thanks for the advice though!

Mr. Nick,

What options are out there for an individual that wants to marginally increase the output from their headlights? Are there simply some aftermarket bulbs that are more efficient than stock?

Silverstars are as bright as you are going to get Halogen wise speaking... if you need more light output then YOU NEED Hids... or some type of aux lights!

I have found that if I run my fogs also at night the output is adequate. Headlights alone just don't do it on this car. First car I've had with such poor output with the headlights. I work 2nd shift, so I do alot of night driving, and like I said, with the fogs on too it's decent.

What is involved in replacing the stock for a set of those puppies? Can I simply buy them and plug them in?

for the silverstars its just replacing the OEM bulb.
for hte HIDS you just need to swap the bulb, plug it in the ballast and the ballast plugs into your existing car wiring... no need to solder, cut wires etc...
its as easy as replacing a stock bulb

The headlights alone suck, with the fog lights turned on, they work well together.

I've had silverstars in 2-3 past vehicles, and my friends have tried them as well. All of us noticed much shorter life then standard bulbs, but yes they did seem to light up the road slightly better.

I'd look into mounting auxiliary lights on the bumper guard. If you do that (after you've aligned them), be sure to let somebody drive your Liberty at night, while you drive a different car at the Liberty... Then you'll know if you've aligned them well enough as to not blind other drivers.

I always run my fog with the low beam, without the fogs I would drive almost blind. The headlights are terrible.I don't think Chrysler did much homework on the 08 KK.

Pretty obvious that it HAS a 3.7, considering in North America that's the only mill you can get;)

ThunderbirdJunkie would let it slide.

my libby is NOT trail rated
Even though we asked for the select trac II system and skid plates and everything a jeep needs to go offroad... ITS NOT trail rated because of the stupid wheels.....
having said that, I guess youre right... im better off without a 3.7l badge!
