3k is a yellow light there not as bright i would think you would have less problems also yellow is better for fog

I run a set of NOKYA H10 9145 Hyper Yellow 2500K bulbs in my KK and love them. The only time I get flashed is when I have my HIDS on...

Digger, do you have any pics of the lights on together? I have yet to see someone have it in person.

I finally got my HID kit situation straight. Well, sort of. It took forever but I exchanged the 6000k 55w kit for the 35w kit. I tried to put it in tonight but the low beams wouldn't turn on at all. High beams would come on but the pass. side seemed a little sketchy like it wanted to flicker. I just ordered the resistor/capacitor kit so hopefully that will fix it. We will see.

Helmet, I am having same prob with ddm hid kit for my lows. You ever get it figured out. Seems like anyone with functioning hids have the dual ballast setup. I'm gonna try one more thing and then throw in the towel, take it to a shop. Lemme know.

i just bought two 10W/50 Ohm capacitors, I read you install them before the ballast. I haven't installed them yet, if THIS doesn't work, I'll take it to a shop. The capicators are ceramic, are these the kind everyone buys? Seems sketchy, like they need a proper housing?

Phisher, I have not gotten it figured out yet. Actually, the seller is sending me a new wiring/relay harness to try. If that doesn't work I'm at a total loss. This is the exact reason I've never wanted to screw with one of these kits until now. I knew it would end in disaster. If Jeep would have put an HID kit in my has-everything-else-BUT-that-$30k-Liberty, I wouldn't be dealing with it. I'd rather have factory HID's than the pointless anti-roll brake-locking thingy in my Jeep. /RANT

Anyway, I have already installed a capacitor/anti-flicker kit as well. That didn't work either. We will see when I get the new harness.

What is this dual-balast setup you speak of???

Digger, do you have auto-lights?

EDIT: Phisher, I forgot... Good luck finding a shop that will work on an a/m HID kit. Considering they aren't technically legal some shops may not touch it. (I would assume. )

Last week I received my new harness for my HID kit. I attempted the install again this weekend and what I ended up with was the opposite of the problem I had before. My low beams would work but no high beams this time. What I found is that the relay harness that is supposed to plug into the factory harness wasn't fitting correctly and making a good connection. I actually had to break out the dremmel and trim the end off as well as trim the little clip part down a bit. I figured this out when I was tucking everything away and I kept hearing a "zzztzzzt!" as the wires were moving around. I thought that can't be good! Once I did the trimming the lights work fine now - sort of...

They turn on and off fine now. However, occasionally I get this slight fluctuation in the beam. It's not really a flicker, it's more like the beam wants to change direction. For the record, I also have the capacitor/anti-flicker units installed as well. This actually makes no difference on the system what-so-ever. I was almost thinking it might be crappy bulbs considering the harness issue.

I wish I would have just bought the DDM kit and been done with it. I also wish I would have just kept the 55w kit. Live and learn.

Lord,

Finally got motivated by the nice weather on Saturday, and about 5 brewski's, installed a 10W 50 Ohm Resistor in series before the module. And had the brightest drive in the Liberty yet, it was sweet. So, I'm glad I didn't spend the money on a dual ballast, it just took a lot of research. Can't believe nothing on here! I ran into a discussion on a Dodge Charger forum and it was discussing Chrysler HID issues. The writer of the topic is an electrical engineer for Buel. I could tell right away this guy knew what he was talking about.

The Skivey: Two 35Watt DDM Raptor Kits - Fogs and Low Beams: $70
DDM Relay Harness: $12.50 (waste of money)
Two 10W 50 Ohm Capacitors: $2.00 (these are key)

Good Luck! Any other questions, let me know, maybe I can help. I think the taking off the grille the first time was the most challenging.

How/where did you install the resistor?

Awesome! You should consider doing a write-up in the KK tech section as I know there will be questions about this (I'm interested in what exactly you needed to do this). Also, is there a reason you didn't get the kit with hi/lo beams?

Install the resistor on the hot wire before the ballast. I cut the oem connector off and hardwired in the ballast. There isn't much slack, so I decided to hardwire the resistor on the hot wire from the ballast that is crimped to oe wire.

Honestly, I didn't even know about dual ballast until after I bought raptor kit. My little bro has been installing these hid kits in different cars for a couple years, he said I wouldn't need a hi beam. I agree, it is very bright, my fogs are seldomly on.
