Just spray paint from home depot?

How long has that lasted you? I would think the dipping would last longer.

Awesome KK! What brand are they and where did you get those LED strips at the bottom of your front bumper?

So I have been working on my light bar and my roof rack.
The day has come!
So First I took off the roof rack from my jeep... :banghead: and 3 of the mounting bracket broke...
Image
I took it down and put the light bar in front of it to see the fitment.
Image
Testing the light bar...All good!
Image
Since the light bar is the same width as the roof basket.
I need to make a special mount for it.
Image
L shape steel plate from Home depot
Image
It fits like a glove. I am gonna paint it black to match the roof rack color
Image
The mount was holding by 2 bolts.
Image
Half finish product (missing the mounting brackets)
The XL roof rack without the light bar
Image
Mount the light bar to test fitment
Image
Sideway
Image
Front of the new light bar and roof rack
Image
After all the testing on the roof, I took it down again and re install my DIY awning. I remove the wood I used previously as it doesn't look that good. I figured out a better way to mount it.

I know you have done your wheels in plastidip and paint, but they don't seem to be holding up as you like. I haven't done nything on my KK. On my truck I used Rustoleum bedliner on my wheels (also my bumpers, grill and oem steps) and they have held up for almost 3 years. The coating has a rough finish and is a flat black vs a shiny surface, but it holds up well if you do it right.

When I first did them in early 2011

After about 2 1/2 years

Honestly don't know. I've seen it done before, I just don't remember if I've seen it done on a KK too.

So today is the day! I got my final package and it's time to start my mods.
I started with painting the light bar mounts
Image
Hours later... :grim:
Image
The lights are up but I was still unsure where to put the switch... :dead:
Hours later...
Image
Cutting and sending...
Image
finish product
Image
so tempted to hit the trigger! :grim:
Image
It's sitting low so the "911" brake wont hit it
Image
I also wire up the relay the I can use high beam and the deadly trigger to activate my light bar.

And at night...I did myself a favor.
Image
No longer needed the flash light when working on my jeep at night :goink:
Image

More mods is on the way.

I like your idea with the momentary switch for the under hood light!
