The only trans cooler in a KK is a stand alone cooler that is the top few rows of the AC condenser.Any KJ with the 42RLE has a stand alone cooler in front of the AC condenser,KJ's with the 45RFE have a in-radiator trans cooler with a option of a added AUX cooler with HD cooling/tow package(in series with in-radiator cooler).

Yes and no.

Can handle more heat but still not good at dealing with temp spikes from sudden high load or extended high heat from heat soak like seen in wheeling,and finally keeps the ATF to cool for to long when in cold temps affecting trans operation till the trans temps reach near-normal operating temps before OD will work.

I'm having some problems with mine it throws a code saying 4th gear ratio incorrect and won't shift goes into P RND but not all gears in D it goes into a gear lock

from late '03 KJ's to the very last auto KK,the CRD's get the 545RFE but the 3.7 get's the 42RLE.
