Love that gear shifter!

Went out wheeling last night with the local off road group and had one of the most fun times I've had in a while! No pics because a) it was late and b) we went straight onto the trail. Group was me, a massive xj, and about 9 wranglers (TJ's and JK's). Everyone was beyond impressed with me keeping up and splashing around with them. Had to take it really slow and safe through some parts since I lack underbody protection though

Regardless, had a blast and can't wait to get out again. Also looking forward to a northeastern trip eventually

I rewired my CB to draw power on its own circuit direct from the battery. No more static from other electronics when the car is on!

Did some county road cruising and took an old forest road up the mountain, had some fun technical sections too. Jeep got hot so I had to sit with the hood up for a minute, but overall it was a good time

LOVE fire towers!!! Some of my best memories are hiking to fire towers with my brothers when we were younger. It's great to find a fire tower these days that you can actually climb. Many are dismantled, fenced, or just in too bad shape to risk it. One of my favorites is on Mount Monadnock in Vermont, where crazy enthusiasts hiked in all new pressure treated boards (super heavy!) and replaced all the steps so that people like us could continue to enjoy the view of the Connecticut River Valley. Here in PA, many fire towers I've tried to visit have been repurposed as cell phone towers, and are surrounded by fences. Thanks for posting pics!

P.S. Does anyone have a map or list of fire towers that are still open to the public in PA/NJ/MD/VA/WV?

Prepare for the Jeep Gods to hassle you for buying them. It is said they are a copy of the JBA ones and not as good of quality. Just a heads up of what I've read.

You might want to do some reading before you order them. They aren't new. There's a reason you don't hear about them. :2cents:

A lot of people dislike RRO. The owner Glenn is a nice guy and goes out of his way to make things right. RRO developed a lift for the Patriot back in 2008. A few batches of the lift were slightly wrong and RRO shipped out replacements no questions asked.

RRO is a small company so they aren't going to have the same level of customer service as these large companies. So far I've bought two products from them and plan on buying more. I've talked with Glenn and I'm sure he would resolve any issues that you may have with his company.

On topic of this thread.. I was driving my KK and saw Gageraid's KK twin. It looked almost exactly the same except with a brush guard. Looked like plasti dipped as well.

Anyone with a black lifted KK from Charlotte?

Been out for a long time, and there is a reason folks buy the JBA ones
If you want crap products go for it
look up what stumpjumper went though when he tried to save a few bucks
If you waste your money on them, all you'll get is good luck cause you'll need it
look real close at the construction and also their way around a bumpstop :ROTFL: to grease the upper ball joint you have to remove a piece each and every time and then reinstall

Yep great idea right here
:ROTFL:

Ok just go to any website be it Jeep/ Toyota, Tracker and type in RRO
People buy from them one time and then find out the truth
Wouldn't buy a sack of rocks from them
By the way Glenn used to sell refrigerators to Eskimos he is that good of a salesman
talk ya into anything

So the fact that I've now owned two of their products and have had no issues doesnt count. There will always be people complaining about a company. If RRO makes such terrible products why are they still in business? Surely there isn't that many people just buying from them once.

Just out of curiosity, what products do you own?

Well you mentioned a lift for your patriot I believe it was
If so not much to making one of those, couple of pieces of metal etc.
Not a good way to lift in the beginning and a lot of companies won't even touch a spacer lift. Others only have them to get you in the door and convince you that its the very worst way to lift. Sorry its a proven fact, seen way too many blown shocks/worn UCAs due to spacer style lifts
Been around lifts / 4 wheel drives etc for over 40 years I can read between the lines of BS and reality in ads put out by companies

Glad you have the same interest in that! Only been to a few and I think they're so cool! This one is in Giles, VA off 460. No way to get up past the first level though  Great views from the top of the mountain though, yesterday it was cloudy so it wasn't as good but I went Sunday night to that same spot and seeing a few smaller cities/towns all lit up was awesome

There is one over in there called the Butt Mountain tower is that it?
Been years years since I've been there
also a nice waterfalls nearby as well if memory serves me.
Used to know a couple of the guys who worked at the towers in West Virginia back in the day. Been up in a few but would never want to sit there all day long
There was even one that their home was up there as well, small "apartment/room" to live I think it was the only one in WV built that way. It was pretty cool .

OK curiosity got to me , the one with the room for them to live in was at the Thorny Mountain Fire Tower in Seneca State Forest. They are now repairing it to rent out to folks to actually stay in it overnight. I was there back in the mid 70s and its a beautiful location
