Well guys... I bought a motorcycle so I might not be around as much as I usually am. Don't worry though! The Jeep is not going anywhere. She probably feels a bit neglected though.

Ha ha, thanks. You don't have to have put the complicated fuse box under the dash, just run a + wire from the battery to the trunk area with an inline fuse holder near the battery, and you'll be ready to hook up your inverter. :D

Had a friend come to my house and dip my fenders and bumpers. We dipped his grill and then went to a meet and greet.

What's the product name of the Dip you use I want to do to mine especially grill first as I have the headlight covers coming but been thinking of doing fenders and bumpers also want to do the hood decal also but maybe next spring. What to start collecting supplies.

Plasti dip is the name and it's 6 bucks a can at home Depot or Lowe's.

I'm thinking since I like the look I might just get it rino lined or raptor lined at some point.

I used roughly 3 cans but my grill was already dipped. Get 4 to be on the safe side.

Hey LKW, is your friend a member here? How did he mount those pillar lights? Any pics of them up close?

He's not a member on the forum. He refuses to join lol but he does frequent the Facebook page. His name is Desmond and I know he is going to redo the mounts cause he said they bounce over bumps.

I've never worked with the plastic dip before is it a one coat and your done type of stuff or do you do 2-3 coats.? Any type of priming the surface or just a good cleaning with water.?

I ask a lot of questions hope you don't mind but if someone has done no sence in messing it up in R&D. Thanks Again.

With dip the thicker you go the easier it is to remove. I put down a thick coat and then touched it up. I just wiped down the areas just to remove any dirt.

No need for primer just spray and go. I did tape off the areas first though.

When i dipped my grill i put 5 coats on. The more you have the stronger it is. Being fenders and bumpers you want durability cause they take a beating on and offroad. So far my grill has held up to rocks and other road crap with no chips. When i do my bumpers and fenders i might do 5 or 6. It doesn't hurt to have extra. When you have to little it will possibly chip and peel on its own. But once you try to peel it off its very hard to do. I helped my friend do his rims on a Jetta and he did 4 coats i believe. It peeled right off in a few pieces when he wanted to change the color

I have 6+ coats on my grill and it took being hit by a 3/16 steel bed without even ripping it even saved my grill by keeping it from shattering under the pressure

Appreciate all the comments and help here with my questions, but always planning ahead right now just working on leveling the monster out, lol , and can't believe how much I'm spending in tools just to put in a few dollars in conduit nuts, haha , guess sometimes doesn't pay to be a loaner. But as usual it is what it is. Thanks again all

I have maybe 3 coats on my grill. It will fade over time due to the sun so don't waste on too many coats cause you'll need to touch it up after it fades.

I put her to work yesterday moving a love seat. This afternoon I'll be using it again to move a bed, a kitchen table and some other stuff for my girlfriend.

The tongue height is a bit off. I'm glad I don't have a lift yet!
