IMO, that's a good thing. :JEEPIN:

I feel the same way. It's not the most versatile of the two options since I can only use it off paved roads but I feel it's the stronger of the two

Neither was I. The L is for low, when you take it out of drive to force it into 1st or 2nd. My dash just says PRND and when I put it in 1st or 2nd a box with 1 or 2(depending on the gear) pops up after the D.

Anyways, select trac might be the more convenient of the 2, especially for daily driving, but I think command trac is the stronger system. I know it's definitely the more capable system.

When I throw the shifter to the low gears the L becomes a 1 or2

Very productive Saturday haha. Jeep has earned the name Margot, and went out with a bunch of dudes from the NOVA Jeepers Association to Red Cloud Off-road park. The KK was able to keep up with YJs and TJs on 35s without needing towed out of messes haha. Even got on two wheels...

Gas station pit stop:

Rear Driver's at max flex:

Passenger Rear tucked all the way in:

It's hard to notice but the passenger front was also off the ground...I could rock the Jeep from wheel to wheel hahaha.

Here's me and the JK on 35s getting out of the creek:

Here's me from the front coming out:

After coming home:

Brought home some souvenirs!:

So I've recently noticed my horrendous mpgs. Well now i just noticed when i went to my trunk while the jeep was running that it smells like its running pretty rich.
What are some common causes of this? Jeeps got about 60k miles.
New spark plugs
Could the 4.7 throttle body affect this?

Have you done your 60k fluid changes? Diffs, Trans, Tcase, and engine oil/tire rotation (unless you're off the even number schedule) should be done.

Since you're getting close to the 60k due date that's probably where your MPGs are going haha. I noticed a 1-2 MPG difference almost immediately (and I didn't put enough fluid back into the rear diff...shhh).

what about the rich smelling exhaust though? That has nothing to do with diffs and tranny

No it does not...I Googled "exhaust running rich" though and one site says it could O2 Sensors (which normally throw a code), catalytic converters, ECU issues, or the timing belt/chain needing replaced.

Cigarette plug. It's on as soon as you turn on the Jeep. Also, if it senses impact when it's off, it'll turn on to capture what hit you (hopefully).

That's a pretty handy feature. I'll add one of these to the (ever-growing) wishlist.

I almost forgot to mention, there was damage done to the Jeep yesterday. My driver's side mirror smashed into a tree...fortunately, it only cracked the housing haha. Very minimal damage!

My bumper and it's front skid saved me a couple times when there were rocks/logs. The extra clearance helped too when going to down and coming off hills at a 50*+ angle...

You mean sway bar? I have had the rear removed since before last winter...tried to undo the front links but wouldn't bolts were very tight (oops...) so I left the front connected and she still did really good!

Also...after the cleaning, another boo-boo showed up. I have my first official rock rash haha.

I picked my KK up from the shop last night. It feels good to be back in it after a few days of driving my dad's BMW. The BMW drives nice and has some nice features but I still missed the Jeep.

Jeepy is getting some TLC today. Transmission service, transfer case & differential oil changes, and engine oil change.

LOL, not this time. The transmission service needs special equipment and I need the receipt for the oil change to keep up the warranty on my new engine, so I just thought I'd have them do the transfer case & diffs while Jeepy was up on the lift. :)

On a side note, I am loving the relatively low price of auto service out here in Michigan. I would pay at least twice as much for the same work if I waited until I got back to Philly.
