I got a tiny little camera, which I stick in the wheel well and tried to take some shots of the balls and rear suspension, I will get those shot out soon. For camp jeep pix, check this: http://gallery.jeepprojects.com/categor ... ?cat_id=19 <--- Camp Jeep Pix I got a lot of cool videos of Jeeps in action, coming up...nope, no KK in action just yet.. |

Departure angle looks brutal. I can see some rear bumper covers being lost on the trail. Front end looks nice though. |

I noticed that as well while I was shaking my head and thinking they can have the under-mounted spare Thanks for sharing! |

Weird! Why would you put a dirty spare under there where everything else is shiny clean black? I am surprised how high that thing sits up in there. Fairly safe......BUT, it still blows to have it there. It looks like a tight fit so any larger tires won't fit. It will be a pain for small women to get the spare out from under there. Actual, they would just call AAA or similar Road Hazard/Safety company to come fix it. I like the rear suspension but not sure about the shock being out front of the axle. Well, if a rock was to hit the shock itself, it would slam into the rear axle too. One advantage of rear control arm on our current system. |

With the KK, I feel that Jeep wants people to offroad with Wrangler strictly, this does not have the capable-look of the KJ or any other previous jeeps. It might be capable to a certain point, but for the first few years, it will be difficult to get anything that will make it as capable.. |

If its strong enough..looks fairly stout...I would sure take a hard look at it, at least to see if it would provide opportunities for better CV angles, less UBJ contact etc.. Maybe it could be the ticket for a 4-5" lift |

Excellent photos! I’m glad that we bought an ‘07 and didn’t wait for the ‘08. Although, I do like the ‘08 front-end. Surprisingly, I’ve been reading and hearing talk from many DCX Employees from all facets within the company say that they can’t wait until Daimler disconnects themselves. I guess the NEW prospect has a better handle on what consumers are wanting and has plans to turn the future of Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep into something pretty cool. This particular Investor has already been involved in the designs, but hasn’t had any control over the engineering. Rumors say that he has good relations with all types of top notch engineers that could take DCX to a new level. Even the old Jeep Engineers are looking forward to better quality Jeeps with Solid Axles. Interesting indeed. |

Look at this shot, a frame from DC's promo footage:
Yes, this is a liberty. I can see it, and it is still there... -------------- This is what I posted somewhere else recently: I am just turning my head and looking outside my window to that Jeep Liberty that is sitting there, maybe 200 feet away, with the silver grille and it is 06, or 07, with those "fog lamps" on the grille. And yes, it resembles 08 LIBERTY from this angle, I can see where they got the 08 shape, front or side, and if you think about it, it is not a huge difference. It is just the signature lines of the KJ that made it different gone, otherwise I still see the Jeep in it. Believe me, it is there, it is just not the same. If you want true off road get Wrangler Unlimited X or Rubi, if you want On Road with great capability, get the new Liberty or Commander. This is the message from DCx. No wonder they made 4 door wrangler. They try to make affordable, somewhat luxurious line of a bit rugged and very capable SUVs. It is just not there yet, but they are trying. If it was any more luxurious it would have cost way too much, but just a bit shy of 30k, and all those features including entertainment, functionality and comfort, I would say it is not bad for new Liberty buyers. |

compare it to the 05-07 renegades and you will see it is in fact still a liberty. |

Thanks for the detailed pics. Good thing is the suspension is pretty much the same as the KJ so there is still hope on a decent IFS lift. But I just can't picture this thing with beefier tires and a lift. Can anyone photochop something? |

Changing the rear differential fluid just got harder. So did changing a flat tire. Other than that, I like the looks of the KK. It's growing on me just like the KJ. I think the KK looks a little more masculine and the added cargo room in back is a plus. I hope the back seat is wider. There's like a foot of steel from the side of the back seat and the outside door panel. Is that what gives the KJ such good crash ratings? If not, the back seat should have been a lot wider. I just wish I had a JK option in 2003 when I bought my Liberty. If I were buying a Jeep today, I'd have to go with a 4-door Wrangler, maybe even a Rubicon for some off-the-shelf 4x4 guts. |

If the 4dr JK's had been around back in June 02 i would have gotten that instead. Sadly, Damlier didn't see a reason to make the Dakar concept a reality. If anything happens to my Libby, the next vehicle will be the 4dr JK or the Wrangler JT concept (if it get built). |
