| Post subject: | 2008 Liberty Tow Hooks |
I had to replace our 1998 Cherokee do to a 5 car pile up. I was not able to find a Liberty with tow hooks in our area so I picked up one without hooks. The dealer parts department looked up the parts and said they were the same as the previous liberty tow hooks if you pick unp individual components. It is interesting the 2007 Fall Mopar catalog does not show tow hooks. So I ordered them in and thinking installing them would be no big deal I took a look at them at home. There is oil cooler with hoses right where the driver’s side hook goes. I have the trailer package so I do not know if it is power steering, tranny or what. Does anyone have any pics of the driver’s side hooks or can offer advice? I am reluctant to force the hose behind or below the hook. I would not want a failure at in inopportune moment. Thanks in advance. |

I don't have the tow package but if you show a picture or a step by step where it is at I can see if I have that device as well. **Update** I got under there and looked myself. I don't know what that cooler is for but I have one as well and mine did not have the tow package. I did see my lines were rubbing on a plastic piece on the bumper so I trimmed that back. I guess the only way I see to install that drivers side hook is to carve out some of the black plastic piece it is attached to and set the whole thing back a inch or so. Anyone know how much those hooks are? I may pick up a set and figure out how to install as well. |

NITRO R/T with Westing Bull Bar and off road lights Guess what Digger! When I clicked on the Westin Bull Gaurd install PDF it lists that it fits 05-08 Liberty as well. Plus when I was replacing my taillights with LEDs I noticed the tail lights had NITRO stamped on the back... looks like tail light gaurds should fit as well. |

Could some of those small high power lights work if you mounted them inside the so outside slots in your grill as in mount them sideways??? Something like the 1500XT Series or the 2100 series?? http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamps-General.html http://www.piaa.com/LEDs/LEDs.html |

They said they would take them back if they did not fit. They researched to see if they would fit. A lot more work than my local dealer would do. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for the great pictures. That explains everything. I am a little surpised that they would bend the hoses around that way. But maybe it is no big deal. Did yours come factory installed? |

not a problem, did you have much trouble? also, did you have to remove the bumper? |

No, I did not have to remove the bumper. But I do have a few bruised knuckles. Not much room in there to do it. But they do fit fine. I still do not like bending the power steering hoses as much as you need to do to make it work though. I hope it does not cause problems down the road. But if they do that on the factory units, it should be OK. |
