http://cwimg.sv.publicus.com/apps/pbcsi ... 6&maxw=630 http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a ... 20012/1065 Quote: JEEP RENEGADE: Here's a small, sporty concept that combines the lithium-ion battery pack, electric motors and a Bluetec diesel engine. The result is fuel economy of about 110 mpg. The Renegade concept has an aluminum body structure for less weight and dual electric motors for four-wheel-drive capabilities. Chrysler says the output of the electric motors totals 85 kilowatts. Styling features include a cut-down windshield, roll bar, openings in the door panels and a hose-out interior.

Don't forget, the people who are responsible for the actual production models live on a whole different planet than the guys who dream up these great concepts. Remember the concepts for the Patriot and the Compass? Concepts are only to show what they could do but they never have the balls to bring them into production so we end up with 1980 models without ground clearance, it's a bit like ordering a Russian bride from the internet you hope she will look like the pretty girl in the picture but you know you will end up with Ursula the prison warden. Only a couple companies have the balls to bring concepts nearly unchanged into production, the Audi TT and the new Fiat 500 for example and they sell like hotcakes. |

I'm not so interested in the body style, as I'm in the 'green' engine that can get you 110 MPG. |

Maybe that's why they don't have a Renegade version of the new Liberty. So they can use that name on a new production model in the near future. |
