Post subject:  ESP/BAS Light... great a check light

Today after driving on the interstate I took a trip downtown. As I came to a stop both the traction control light and the ESP/BAS light come on and stayed on. I parked, turned it off, and it hasn't been back. According to our manual if it comes on a few times in the next ignition cycles to contact a dealership. There is a lot of sand on the roads from the inch of snow we got (they always freak out the first snow) and I have been giving that system a work out. Any thougths?

I'm pretty sure its something with the BAS system since after every stop it feels like the breaks aren't fully releasing. Sucks its going to have to wait till the 22nd to get looked at. I wish I never bought from this dealer, they don't even have a loaner program so I can just drop it off. :x

I had my ESP light come on after about 15 minutes of driving. The 4wd service light would come on about 30 seconds later. They replaced the transfer case actuator and it took care of the problem.

You know you don't have to only go to the dealer you bought from. Make the system work for you. Just make an appointment at another dealer, work over the head guy with kindness and you'll get what you want. If all else fails, where a super mini skirt and show some leg

Did they tell you why it failed? the only thing mechanical that i have heard blowing up is a few rear diffs on the nitros and the valve train in the real early ones...
