| Post subject: | Black Elastic Strap |
I have had my KK for almost 2 weeks now. I just tonight I noticed as I was getting out of it and coming into the house the black elastic strap thingy along the left hand side of the transmission console. I didn't look in the manual yet to see what it is. Can someone tell me what the hell is that thing is for? |

The best I can figure, it's a map holder. I liked the door pockets better on my KJ, they were deeper than my KK, and seemed to hold books, magazines or maps better. |

I keep my survival knife ther for camping, as for as a map holder, omly if you don't have the NAV system, then maybe it is a map holder. |

That must be one very light pistol. |

I wish the strap was a little heavier b/c that would be a GREAT place for mine. My Kel-Tec P3AT would probably be ok there, but thats normally in my waist band. |

I know I tried putting my HK USP .45C and my Sig P220R equinox but they wouldn't stay in place...so it's still the glove box |

No I have a belt holster that I slide the pistol in and then slide both in behind the strap. I let it rest on the carpet. Mine is a XD9 |

-------------------------------- Yea. I found that out the hard way back in the late 70's when I was hunting NW Penn. and got my kill so I went to see the Falls at Niagara. Border police nabbed me, not for my 06 but for 357 Mag. Heck!!! I didn't know all that back than. They did let me go the a near gun shop and ship it back home. Border police says: throw it in the water or ship it out of here. Thats the choice. Older we get, the more we learn. Steve |

I couldn't live in a country that didn't allow me to protect myself. And I couldn't live in a country where I needed to be responsible for my own protection. 2006 Homicide (US) - 5.7 per 100,000 residents Homicide (CAN) - 1.85 per 100,000 residents Robbery (US) - 149.4 per 100,000 residents Robbery (CAN) - 94 per 100,000 residents But don't misinterpret a few numbers as suggesting I am anti-gun. For what it's worth as a Canadian married to a Texan I found this discussion (in-Jeep storage of a weapon) interesting although foreign to me, although I know many of my in-laws have this very problem. But enough of the politicking - let's get back to Jeepin'! |
