Hello Pretty quiet around here lately.....Just an update on our KK, we hit the 8500 mile mark the other day, everything is still okay with it, no problems. I do have one issue though with the window defroster, not sure what they were thinking when they designed the vent up on the dash. I'm sure you know what I mean.......those of you in the cold climates that is.... I did swap out the tires for some Yokohama geolander AT/S's. Really helped with road noise and traction and we don't feel the road so much anymore through the steering wheel. Same size as the stock tires We also got the damage fixed the other day, new tailight, bumper fascia, and bumper support. Looks like new again:) Anyway thats all for now..... |

Yes, that was one of my questions when i bought this last week. It was about ten degrees outside, and both sides of the windshield would keep on fogging up on the test drive. He said it wasn't normal, and he would ask about it when we got inside the building. Is that the problem you are having? |

I have noticed issues with the windshield fogging with my KK. It looks like the defrost vents under the windshield are in a block in the middle. This means that the middle of my windshield clears up really fast, but the edges and sometimes the driver/passenger windows take a while to clear and sometimes they stay foggy no matter what. I had at first thought that there was an additional vent in the corners of the dashboard pointed up but after looking closer I realized that they are actually speakers there instead of vents. Not sure if anything can be done about this... |

yep I have the same issue on mine along with some squeaking from the left rear breaks and left rear door lock freaking out... all issues that need to be looked at when I have the time to bring it in. PS I tend to break things |

Yes, the defroster has its issues. I'm also a bit annoyed with the overdrive. It's hilly here in NH and the Liberty is constantly shifting in and out of overdrive. The timing of the shifting just doesn't seem right. I'm having the first oil change done this week. |

Yes, I'm aware of the tow button but I don't feel comfortable with leaving that on for long periods of time. I have been using it around town. |

don't worry about running around in drive... if any thing, you may achieve a higher mpg due to the engine being kept at a more stable rpm and your trans will stay cooler as it won't have to work as hard...as far as the windows, i just play with the settings |

We FINALLY got our Jeep! Pretty much everything I wanted, just in the silver rather than Jeep green, but the silver does look nice!! Anyway, I have noticed the side windows fogging up and even frosting up when the climate control is set to Auto. Even setting the mode control to Defrost didn't seem to help until we turned the fan from Auto to at least 60-70% speed. After a few minutes the fog/frost started to disappear. I can't fault the Liberty too much - it was a rather nippy -10F that day! In milder weather (above 0F) I haven't noticed as much of a problem. Can't wait to drive it more! Only about 420 miles on it so far but it's been fun! We've given the ESP/TCS system a good workout so far with our icy roads. Did some interesting tests in an icy empty parking lot on Sunday - able to spin the Jeep in at least 2 360 spins with the ESP turned off, but barely twitched on the same spot with the ESP turned on. Very obvious difference to say the least! (Sorry for the thread-jack...!) |

Congrats on the new KK. Yeah the ESP stuff is great. I have to admit, we had our biggest snowfall of the year here last week (~6 inches plus a little ice) and we get the option of working from home or going in. While I was looking forward to driving/playing in the snow, I ended up staying home that day. I am not worried about getting myself there with the KK, I am worried about all of the other yahoos who have no idea to drive in snow and who don't have a KK. |

I don't want to jack this post, but how the heck does the 42RLE perform in the JK? I mean the JK guys have to be putting this minivan tranny to the test more then we are (bigger tires, more extreme trails..etc.) Does anybody make a shift kit for it? |

I'm having the first oil change done this week. Thats interesting as our Liberty very rarely shifts out of overdrive on any hill......In fact I've only noticed it once..... |
