Post subject:  Hood not straight (Now with pics)

Just out of curiosity, has anyone noticed that the hood is not straight? Hopefully I can explain without confusing myself....

Standing in front of the KK, look where the front of the hood meets the front of the vehicle. On mine, there is a noticeable gap on the left side. I stuck my pinky in the gap, then tried it on the right side, and there is no gap. Can anyone please check theirs to see if this is "normal"? Thanks.

EDIT: It's where the very left side meets the front, right at that corner.

your edit maybe has thrown me a little off but:

I would start by checking the two hood adjustment dealies (when you open the hood there are two hexagonal rubber nut things, one on each side on the black cowling directly above the radiator), most likely one of those is run out further than the other and is causing your crookedness, equalizing them should correct your problem (just twist them).

if not that, I can't help.

Checked the "stoppers" under the hood, they looked fine. I will post a pic later on this afternoon when I get home. If I hadn't been standing right in front of the truck looking at that specific spot, I never would have noticed it. For posting pics, can I just copy and paste the image into the message?

You have to use a photo storing website like photobucket. From there you can copy the link and then paste the link to your message and it will post.

Roger that. I will just post them to my dot mac web gallery this afternoon. Took a couple of photos with my cell phone, used the car key as a reference so you can see the gap from one side to the other. Not sure why it bothers me, but it just does. I also noticed that the grille looks pretty easy to remove, just a couple of cheap plastic tabs holding it in place.

Don't know what would cause this but I'll go measure my KK to see if both sides are the same. I just used the finger test and it felt the same...who knows!

Post subject:  Are you on level ground?

I've noticed when I was washing my KK that if only one front wheel is on the concrete apron of the garage and the other front tire is on the flat area of the parking pad it will shift my hood. There seems to be a little flex in the sheet metal and perhaps this is what you are seeing. Regardless I truely love my KK over my 05 CRD KJ.
