Post subject:  Tire pressure indicators....

Hello

Man, these things are a pain in the booty.....We had a flat tire today and put the spare on and its still indicating the low tire pressure on the tire that we took off. And yes I ran it down the road but that didn't help.... Any other ideas on how to get the thing to reset to the different tire?

The full size spare has a tire pressure sender in it right? If you don't mind resetting the clock and radio setting I would suggest disconnecting the power from the battery and resetting the ecu. If that doesn't work than you got a real problem.

well, after 4 flats I can tell you that all you need to do is wait a bit, it will reset itself.

You may want to check and make sure all your tires are up to the pressure that's listed on the door post though.

I love those low pressure indicators, they've saved me lots of grief so far. Sometimes it's hard to tell which tire is low just by looking.

Hello again,

Just a follow-up, the next morning when my wife drove to work it reset itself to the different tire a couple of miles down the road......Not sure why it didn't do it while I was driving it....

have you checked the air in all 5 of your tires to make sure they are aired up the the right pressure?

Post subject:  TPMS

MY TPMS works perfect, everthing in my kk is problem free, I have been to 3 jamborees, its my daily driver and it works perfect, no window probs, no electrical probs, hood is straight, and my YES fabric never shocks me, I have 8K miles and the KK is far superior to my previous 2 KJ's, don't get me wrong, the KJ's were great vehicles but the KK is a new breed entirely, and I love it!!! :D

I was just coming back from the park a minute ago when the TPMS light came on... I pulled into a gas station and checked the pressure in all 4 tires - all were within a pound of eachother... So I started it up again and the light comes back - and then after about a mile, it shuts itself off.

Will be going back out in just a minute - the saga continues...

Well - I was back out for 15 miles and the sensor didn't go off at all... I'm going to give it another hour or so to cool and then check the pressure again. Only thing I can think of is that I had it bouncing all overthe place yesterday driving up to my house... The road is a mess - I have to grade it this summer. Was late for a meeting and figured it was time to stop being so sensitive and shake a couple of things loose. So far, this is the only thing. Well, that and the maraca steering wheel.

Will let you know if it does on again or if my cold pressure is odd in any way.

I had my first experience with the Jeep's tpms today. Went to go have the air changed to nitrogen (do this with all my cars), and as soon as I got in it the light was on. The salesman came and checked all 4... they were fine. Sitting at 31/32, but fine.

So I drove for a good 20 minutes, still ON. Hmm... stopped, checked again, 20 pounds in the RF! Turns out the pressure-testing valve caps I have... the mechanic didn't screw them all the way on. So, it was leaking air the whole time. Oh well, tightened it, filled up 5 minutes later. Now running 36 psi in all 4, and happy as can be.
