I have looked all over the net and can not find an answer. Does any one know what kind of rear end comes standard in a 4x2 KK? Is the info on the jeep somewhere? Thanks for the help. Michael |

Thanks for reply. What I'm trying to figure out, in my fumbling way, is whether or not the KK's have a limited slip differential as stock. With that answer I can determine whether to just add a locker to the rear end or if I need to proceed in some other direction. |

No LSD's either in the KK due to ESP being standard.Be aware that they may have changed stuff in the 8.25 that is in the KK from one that is in a KJ,they may have,no word yet if they did or not.If they did change something the current LSD's and lockers may/may not work.

The ESP works pretty darn good. I was just out on a (for a 4x4) minor trail near a local lake. At on point there was a ditch about 18-20" deep and about same wide. The KK crossed but wouldn't climb out. The ditch was at the bottom of a sort of steep drainage. I backed up and dropped the front end down into the ditch, then put her back in drive and gave it some gas. The ESP light came on and she climbed right out without any hesitation. Nice. It was a good ways back in there and I sure didn't want to get stuck. So after that and mulling some things over I have read in other threads here, I have been thinking of trying to make what mods I can to give my 4x2 some extra umph on these old lake trails and firebreaks and power lines I travel when fishing or hunting. Any advice in this area would be much appreciated. Not trying to do what a 4x4 can, just wanting to have a little fun while out and about. Thanks. Michael |
