Anyone here notice their brakes squealing while slowing down? I have 4500 on the KK now, dealer say's it is normal "break in" noise, but wanted to check with other owners to verify. |

break dust is hard to avoid and noisey as heck... I try to take it easy on the brakes - always keeping an eye out for reasons to let off the gas and slow down as early as possible - downshift a lot too... not that the clutch is cheaper to maintain - just makes less noise. I've got 7500 now and the brakes are quiet so far *knock knock* Of course the wife is driving it today - so we'll see. lol... One odd thing - was driving down my dirt road several weeks ago and all of a sudden heard a really loud screetching sound from the rear/right wheel - even with no brakes applied. Stopped immediately and looked, couldn't see anything wrong, got back in and started off, only to hear the noise again. Stopped immediately and looked again... Only thing I could figure was that a small stone had lodged somewhere in the assembly and was rubbing. So I gave the wheel a couple of good kicks, hopped back in and took off - no more noise. *whew* Not interested in seeing the bill associated with getting the KK towed off the mountain. |
