Have a 2008 Liberty Limited and I love it. But when I turn corners to either the right or left it makes this rubbing sensation that feels like it's coming from the wheels in front. Is this normal for Jeeps, or what???? I take it in on Friday to have Jeep take a look at it. Was just wondering if anyone here had thoughts on this.... The tires are 235/65/17, but I don't think that's an issue??
Anyway would like some ideas.....thanks!

It's everytime I make a turn through corners.

hmmm . . . sounds like a tire rub, but that would certainly be odd with stock tires. I get a squeak on certain types of pavement (parking garages), but it is normal. I would certainly bring it up to the dealer, and it sounds as though it would be an easy problem to replicate and assess.

I'm wondering if it's a tire rub, which I doubt, or if it's the brakes. When I stop straight I don't get any rub sensation. Don't know.........

When I'm taking tight corners, I get this sort of feeling - apparently for two reasons... One is that the steering linkage binds a little when I have the wheel locked to one side or the other. Tested it on another KK and got the same feeling... It'll even squeal a bit if I lock the wheel while stopped and start to pull out. Got the same on a new Wrangler I tested as well - only worse.

Second part of it is tire rub on the ground while making a tight turn - with the wheels locked to one side or the other, it's normal to hear and feel some rub on the ground, as this is a rear-wheel drive vehicle...

When I first started driving mine, I thought for sure something was wrong... Took it to the dealer and told them I didn't want to hear any explainations - I just wanted to drive some other vehicles.. Turned out to be common to all of them and actually signifcantly worse on the Wrangler.

Hope this helps... HAve fun!~

Well, I'll let you know on Friday when I take it in. I've heard some think it might be the Command Trac II transfer case that's not fully engaging.......don't know.

Hey....wanted to get back with all of you on this since you were so nice to give me some input. They didn't find anything wrong with it after they checked it all out, and it's not making that sound now. So....who knows???!! Just forgot to get back to all of you on it. Thanks everyone!!!!!!
