| Post subject: | Last Day to Order |
Does anyone know when the official last day to order a 2008 KK is? I've asked Jeep and they said ask the local dealer. (Thanks, very helpful.) I asked the local dealer and they said "Oh, you have a little time left" but would not give me a specific date. (Thanks. Very helpful.) I'm sure they'd rather sell something on their lot or someone elses, but they can't find the exact combination of things I'm looking for on the wife's new Jeep (Black, Package 1 only, Selec-Trac II, Sky-Slider, a few other odds and ends.) |

I think your better off with the 09.I have a 08 Librty with problems since day one.The 09s have been improved with stiffer rear axle shafts, retuned spring, shocks, and anti-roll bars.Good Luck |

Yeah, first year is work-out-the-bugs year. The Jeep site still shows 2008's but no 2009's yet. I might have to go to the dealer and ask when the first order date is for the 2009's instead. Wonder if I'll get the same kind of helpful answer. (lol) I might decide to wait until the 2009's show up for sure on Jeep.com so I can get the straight picture on details, options, etc. Maybe it's just this particular dealer, but they don't seem to know their own product very well (lol X2). |

newpiper wrote: :?: richd, if I might ask, where did you get the inThe september issue of Car and Driver magazine.formation on the improvements for the '09's?
I got my info from thr September issue of Car and Driver Magazine.I think they are right because I have a slight vibration at highway speeds(65-80),and had the OEM tires replaced, and still have slight vibes,my first thought was the shocks. |

Thank you. Went there and saw that. I think I'll be patient for the '09's. If I don't like what is presented there will still be plenty of '08's around and maybe the right thing (or very close) will show up. Liberty's can actually do 80? |

I can tell you I had it up more then that, this was during my break in period. When I first got the Liberty,I thought it was a dog.Now with about 4k on it,big differance from new.I would still wait for the 09.So far not completely satisfied with the Liberty.I still have small vibration(at highway speeds),drifting to the right on alignment.Until that gets solved, wont be satisfied. |

My only compaint is I wish they put a bigger gas tank in the vehicle. 19.5 is rather small for this vehicle, I always feel like it goes down too fast. My 98 ZJ Gand Cherrokee has a 23 gallon tank which will take you almost 500 mile to a tank compaired to almost 300 for the liberty. I like the ride in my 08, I don't want a stiffer suspension and ride if the 09's are beefed up. |

The only thing thats stiffer is the rear axles, the suspension gets retuned, which I think is a good thing. |

if you want a manual transmission, you better grab an 08 while they are left. I understand there will only be automatic transmissions in 09. |

nah, this will be the wife's new jeep so automatic trans it will be. i love my wife, but i could not bear the thought of teaching her how to drive a stick. that's the reason for the selec-trac 2. put it in 4 full time and no worries if the road conditions improve. she tends to put it in go and just go. (if jeep had an automatic thought processing shifter and transfer case mode option that read her mind and just did it, i'd buy it!) |
