Does anyone happen to know if a '97 Jeep Wrangler has a fuel system inertia switch? If so, where is it located?

I think I read that the 08 KK has one, does anyone know where the reset for it is located?

If you mean like Fords do for fuel cutoff in an accident - Chryslers do not.

The KK does. It's part of the Enhanced Accident Response System.

THe owners manual says that in case of an accident that deploys the airbags, the Accident Response System will:

Cut off fuel to the engine

Flash Hazard Lights

Turns on the interior lights, which remain on as long as the battery has power or the ignition key is removed

Unlocks the doors automatically.

But the KK does not have a inertia switch, just becuase the fuel gets cut to the engine does not mean it has a inertia switch. If you had a inertia switch I could disable your vehicle with a simple tap in the right spot, did it all the time to the older Crown Vic cop cars when I was younger 8) .

well, there's something that measures the inertia of the vehicle, and shuts off the vehicle when it's in an accident. I don't know if it's called an inertia switch, an inertia monitor, or what it's called, I'm wondering how it's reset. Is it reset by turning off the ignition switch, or is there some mechanical reset for it? I was also wondering if a 97 Wrangler had a similar fuel shut off after an accident, and, if so, how it would be reset.

It run off the SRS sensors since your airbags are inertia deployed also,so not just any accident will kill it,the airbags need to pop.The newer Jeeps also have a valve in the gas tank that cuts fuel flow if you roll over.

Your '97 TJ would not have anything like that in it.
