Does anyone make a suspension lift yet for the KK? I thought I had read somewhere that the OME HD coils for a KJ would work, is that right? |

Only the front setup for the kj will work on the KK. The rear coils are a whole different animal. Expect about 1/2-3/4" less lift in the front from a kj kit than what you would get out of the lift on a KJ. Any amount of lift in the rear needs longer rear brakelines. Anyone who tells you differently is smoking crack and does not need to be driving anywhere near me. The rear KJ shocks bolt right in, so the only thing different is the rear coils, rear brakelines, and adjustable rear trackbar. I have been working with Marlin @ JeepinbyAl to get the KK kits going. The upper control arms are different than the KJ. They are left/right specific, but I already got Marlin measurements and he has KK upper arms already to go. Just waiting on the rear brakelines to get finished, and the KK 4" kits will be ready after test fit to make sure all is good. I also talked with him yesterday and talked him into changing the 4" coils to 2.5" coils so he can have a 2.5" kit available as well. I would say before the end of the year there will be "real" 2.5" and 4" kits available from JeepinbyAl. Not going to be cheap, but they will be complete so it is done right and safe, not some cheap budget boost that doesn't address brakelines or rear trackbar. |

Reinsures me that the lifts and other goods i buy for my jeep are made and tested by real people with brains. |

I'm all for a good real lift but not for $2200-$2500 plus a $600-$900 cv and not even installed! most lifts for other SUVs similar to these same changes install!! |

LOTS of companies said the same thing with the KJ , kept promising another month or two, but NOTHING ever happened except for a few who hung with us! If you could go back to some of the posts on LOST from 03/04 you would see who said they would do something but never did, same ones that are trying to con the KK owners now As far as lifts and the costs involved...the KJ is the cheapest lift I ever did , everything else I ever lifted (the right way) was way over 1500, so I really get confused when people say they do not want to spend 2 or 3000 for a quality lift |

For a 4" lift for say a 4runner if done good installed would be about $2200. So why should it cost $3000 plus install for a KK? Are the parts that much better? Don't get me wrong I did buy a jeep and not the toyota or something else. Mostly because I need a suv that could be my daliy driver, tow and be 4x4... the wrangler can't tow all but 2000# so that was out the 4runner is like $7000 more out of my budget. So I got a KK not a suv that many people lift so I guess I and others are limited to what is out there and thankful to the people who do make budget or quality lifts. Still looking forward to see images of a 4" KK lift. As of now there are none and nothing as been trail tested. I go on my first offraod day trip on october 4th with the no mods to see just how "trail rated" this jeep is..... then start to see what I really need. Not sure about a 4" lift, and not looking for a spacer lift thou... |

It's the economies of scale. the 4runner has a $2200 lift because it's a 4runner, and therefore more likely to be wheeled and abused when new than any fixed-roof Jeep. I remember...what? 10 years ago? There wasn't a lift for the XJ available with more than 2 or 3 inches of lift? NOW look at all the goofy crap you can buy to glue to those things! |
