Just wondering if anyone has decided to take that (imo) stupid black trim piece off from under the front bumper. It has the twist-to-secure plugs holding it in, and from what I can tell, is just a waste of and inch of clearance.
Is it really there for any reason what so ever?

yup, it was gone two hours after i got the kk... after you remove the plugs, you have to cut the plastic rivets. Then just put a zip tie in its place after the black thing is gone.

Hey, did you cut the part that the black piece slides into? Is that why you said to cut off the tabs? I just pulled the twist pins out, and it slid straight out of a slot...

I'm a little confused (not necessarily a new experience!). MNKK just took out the plastic twist pins and Diggerfreek did that as well as cut the plastic rivets (and added twist ties). Looking at my own KK, it appears that you need to cut the plastic rivets. But, what are the twist ties for? (I don't want to muck around with it now because I have to go out in half an hour and I have visions of this thing dragging along the ground if I don't do it properly). :D

I added the zip ties to keep the bottom of the bumper skin attached to the jeep

lol, this was the first thing I did the morning after I bought it. Pull the clips, not-so-gently pull it off, use a couple of zip ties... Done.
