I dont know what makes Daystar cheaper but they a re a good quailty brand and so is Revtek, either way you cant go wrong and dont forget new rear shocks and bumperstops and be sure to post before and after pics |

RevTek has a lot of experience with IFS from Toyotas...and also with the 2002-2006 KJs DayStar has also been around with spacer lifts for many vehicle |

The Revtek is an OTT lift. Which means that spacer is on top of the coils, whereas the Daystar places it spacer underneath the coils. Another vote for the Daystar lift. |

what size tires do you guys think would be optimal with this setup without compromising off road ability? |

I am also somewhat new to the idea of lifting my Jeep. The concept of installing a Daystar kit seems easy enough from looking at the installation instructions, but I don't know when bumper stops are required. Can the Daystar lift be installed with nothing else required? Or are new rear shocks and bumper stops needed as well? |

Well- TomMudd will tell you that any lift needs bumpstops - but I think most people with Daystars don't - I didn't and didn't have a problem. (this is not true of an OTT spacer lift - without a bumpstop OTT will kill struts - with a bumpstop they seem okay) |

New rear shocks will be needed or you will destroy the OEM ones real fast, the fronts will be fine.Bumbstops will help control rubbing when flexing.Oh and any lift for a KK will need extended rear brake lines and re-routing of the ABS sensor wires, they are barely long enough for the stock set-up and will be way to short for any lift.I know, had a KK ripped apart seeing how a Frankinlift would fit in a KK and could not even let the axle droop all the way down without the rear shocks off or the brake lines/ABS sensor wires would snap.

soo yea..apparently their was a lot more then i thought their was to lifting my jeep lol. So let me see if i have this right. If i go with an OTT spacer kit, ill need new shocks in the rear and bump stops in the front? But if i go with Daystars lift that puts the spacers under the struts im fine? Not including the ABS and brake line problem? what i don't get is whats the major difference to OTT and placing the spacers below that can effect the struts to prematurely fail? And sorry if these are noobish questions, |

I strongly recommend going with something other than an OTT |

When you put an OTT spacer in - you move the top of the strut down the full spacer distance -On a Daystar - the top of the strut is much closer to stock. So when the wheel cycles up - on an OTT lift - the strut will bottom out on the strut internals - and 1-2 hits will kill the internal seals of the strut. On Daystar - the top is close to stock position so when you cycle up - you either hit the stock bumpstop - or coil bind the springs before the strut bottoms - so the struts okay (if you do have coil bind- it will degrade the spring rate will drop over time) so OTT - bumpstop is a must unless you don't cycle the suspension. Daystar - bumpstop is more of a long term issue. (and I think you need longer rear shocks on any lift) |

You know this is what gets me with people doing lifts, I guess anytime I do something ( like a lift kit) I am doing it to make the vehicle better, not just for the look. Putting the best available lift on even if you are not going to go off road will be an upgrade, and it will handle better, ride better etc. going cheap is just that cheap..... Bure Aghali BUMPSTOPS yes they do help a lot, even IF NOT GOING OFF ROAD!Ever hit a speed bump that you did not see, same as off roading almost, may blow the struts if you don't have the bump stop I know there is not much out there for all of you yet with the new improved and yes longer rear shocks or you will top out the old ones real quick! SO.....my advice is exactly worth what you paid for it! Thank you and Good Evening Tom...out of here |

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR |

a liberty not a wrangler! I needed a truck to tow and the wrangler only tows 2000# so the liberty tows 5000#. Now I have 4wd and that's a bonus. I am not an offroader, so what I was saying was if i just want some extra ground clearance then a spacer lift might be okay. Yeah its the cheap lift but for someone who wants to spend $3000 and they offroad a lot the quality parts are needed. I would have got a toyota fj40 but couldn't afford a daliy driver and a offroad truck that would be dependable. Well thats all not sure what I will do. Gonna do some light offroading to test out the jeep stock stuff and then decide what I shoud do if anything as the next time i go offroading might be a year later.... take care all |

Just curious. I have 3 inches of lift and did it for under 600 of course its on a KJ but I am sure there are going to be some great lifts coming out that will not be 3000 clams |

well you can not get by with $260. I just tried to install the rusty's lift and its a no go. First the brake lines are the number 1 problem with the kk that can not be avoided. I don't know how RUBICON RICK's kk is doing but i don't feel that it is safe. Also the front strut plates from rusty s were misdrilled. |
