Is it actually removed in that pic, or photo shopped?

I wanted to pull mine off, but was afraid of what might be behind it.

Who's the guy on here with the Limited KK, and he swapped all the chrome trim for black...? He should know, but I don't remember his user name.

I swapped my chrome ones for black ones.
There is a small hole to line up the trim. I also thought about leaving the trim off but after taking it off it didn't look right without the trim.
The old ones came off pretty easy but removing the old tape was tougher. I used alot of 3M adhesive remover and lots of rubbing with my finger nails.
New ones went on easy enough.
If anyone is interested I have the chrome ones I would sell for $60. You will need to use new body trim tape but you can pick that up at any autobody shop.

I think if you take them off and left it with the indentation for the trim just exposed, it would look funny. If you where able to fill it in and have the panals re-painted it woulod look really good. A nice clean line. Could you use a filler like Bondo? or would you use sheet metal and a welder? It would be tough if you didn't know what you where doing, but the final result would look really good.

I knew there was a reason I didn't pull mine off already... just like was mentioned, there would be a recess left in the body that would look goofy.

Hi Folks

I'd like to remove the mouldings and put the Freedom Pack side steps back on.
Has anyone done this, photos?
Shorter family members are struggling with the lift kit and the trim doesn't leave a lot of toe room, if I recall.
