ive seen some KJs and the Liberator II have this done. How would you go about doing this? Tried looking it up on google but no luck :? reason i ask is because I'd like to do more off roading in the future but im scared s#@!less that im going to ruin my front bumper cause the front hangs so low. I'm willing to try this front end trim, but i just need some guidance if anyone can help me out :)

Good thread I am sure there are a few people on here that would interested in doing this. I know I have thought about as well and have not decided how far up the bumper I want to trim.

the way i look at things... if you dont do anything NOTHING is getting done. do something.. even if it's wrong it's better than not doing anything.... get yourself a light so you can see what your dealing with... grab a roll of tape (masking) and start putting down lines on the bumper of where you want to cut it. stand back and check it out.. if you like it hack it off! if you dont... retape. measure a few spots on both sides to make sure it's even and go for it! then run some sand paper along the edges you cut to smooth it up a little bit.. doesnt really matter what grit sand paper.. i think i used 150 or 80? any will work. now GO DO IT!

this is how i cut mine the first time for the tires to clear.... then i just hacked off the rest of the bottom because i thought it looked better :) but here is an example.

ps- make sure there is nothing important behind whatever your cutting... ie. wires.. plugs.. whatever.

haha yea i took off that front lip. just tore it off..jk i undid those twistie caps and popped right off without a problem :) concerning the trimming, what did you use to cut the bumper 06 kj? Looking at your default pic..did you cut more off the bumper from when you took those original pics?

You can cut with about anything.....utility knife, sawzaw, scroll saw, or my fav....4 1/2 cutoff blade in my angle grinder!!! I had to cut the front bumper on my Astro when I lifted it, that plastic cuts like butter with a good saw. If you are unsure, take off small sections until you get off what you need or until it looks good to you.

hmm well i really wana do this project :D but im scared i may ruin my bumper lol :( that air powered saw looks like something i would want to use, seems like it would cut very smoothly. And i completely agree, the way you trimmed your bumper looks great!

Have you seen the Nitro? That cooler almost sticks out through the grille/bumper on those! I'd suggest making an extra skid that extends from the front engine skid to go up and over the radiator area if you're gonna trim much off of a KK bumper.

Mabe the cooler can be relocated somewhere. It seems easy to remove and the hoses are long enough to move it around i think
