This is an interesting one, which might not be apparent until after a LOT of rain.

I had been noticing a damp carpet whilst vacuuming out my Jeep some time ago. Then we got hit with a week of bad rain. Last Sunday I noticed a nice (?) puddle on the floor of the passenger side foot area. The floor mat was soaked, the carpet also. I removed the plastic trim that runs along the passenger door sill and onto the right "wall" of the foot area to find no apprent source of a leak. I was headed out of town so left the detailed inspection for later. I just mopped up the water as best I could and hit the road.

A couple of days later, I removed the trim again and found a drip coming from a "knob" of pink foam protruding from the steel on the right side of the foot area. I pressed on the foam to find a large amount of water seeping from it - the filler foam in behind the steel seems to be saturated. I popped the hood this evening to see a potential entry point for the water - you can see the pink foam, which I'm guessing is for noise prevention, but I don't see a way to seal up the area around the hood to prevent future flooding. Right now I'm drying out the floor material with a ceramic heater.

Digger, do you happen to know of a TSB for this issue?

Has anyone else had this happen, that knows about it? I might be wrong, but it might be worth checking into. I'm going to the dealership with it in the next week or so.

To my knowledge it seems like an issue on the drain of the AC system.... My dealer unclogged my vent system when I had a my charger... it turns out that debris and leaf where obstructing the drain passage.......

OK great thanks, at least that's something I can suggest to the dealership. Would that still cause saturation of the pink foam though?

EDIT:

I should add that we had an immense amount of rain too... possibly that has soaked the foam. I will still have them look at the a/c drain though.
