However I have been working for at least a month on this issue, as I want to have it installed when I take delivery.
This is what I have been able to find out:
1. Salesmen - It says it comes with the liberty - we will have to wait and see . (yeah lets wait while you collect my money -- and once I take delivery you wont honor anything because you got your money).
2. Parts Dept - Gee I'm not sure. I will need a week to place a call - don't think this is possible (i asked for him to get a 09 liberty brochure and told him the page to look at) Oh i see what you are talking about - I'm still going to take a week to get an answer.
3. Chrysler New Vehicle Customer Service (US BASED) - We have not information for you. Why do you want an iPod connector you can hook your iPod via usb and download directly to your MyGig (this is not true) and you can use the AUX connector (yeah but that is just to pass audio via cable not control the iPod via touch screen). You should contact your dealership for more information.
4. Chrysler Customer Service (Foreign BASED) - We don't have any information for you. Please contact Uconnect Support (hey just handle phone connection trouble shooting) or your dealership (they do not know).
Basically no one knows - not the dealership, not Chrysler. Of course if I could contact MOPAR or get past the Chrysler customer service (Foregin based) I could get the question answered.
Get used to it if you have a MyGIG. It is such "black box" technology I am really concerned if I have problems with mine; I just don't believe the average Jeep dealership service dept. will be able to much to help me. For instance we have extremely flaky connections sometimes with our cellphones: sometimes incoming calls in the Jeep go straight through to the MyGIG, other times it rings on the phone. Sometimes calls are dropped, dialing doesn't always work the way it should. Now who do I tell about this? My Jeep service dept. guy who is trained on cars, not radios? It was one thing when it was an AM/FM radio, maybe with a CD player. But with a hard drive, USB connections, satellite radio, GPS navigation, etc.? Where do they begin with possible causes and solutions?
