Post subject:  iPod Integration - MOPAR Part 82211853

So I was contacted by the parts guy at my dealership. I was told today that apple is no longer allowing Chrysler radios operate an ipod from the radio. Anyone-else hear of this?

In addition i was told that the side steps for the 09 liberty (mopar part 82211258) does not fit the liberty and I need to wait for a new part (new part number).

I have been working with the dealership about what I want put on when my liberty arrives in February. Side note I was already for production on dec 16th then the announcement came about closing on the dec 19th. I hope they are back up and running next week.

Have you considered completely dropping the MyGig, and just going with an aftermarket version? Take a look at the Alpine unit in my signature. I couldn't be happier with it, and its is only $299. Then add a Garmin.

I like the idea of the all in one nav unit, and I prefer the stock option. I have thought about the garmin option, and too many people I know have had them stolen because they don't put them out of sight (and I can see how easy it could be just to not take it down every-time).

its for the 2009 not 2008
so Ill wait for it to arrive and I WILL post results

This ticks me off. I call Chrysler to get answers but only am told to contact the dealership.

so far this is the mis-information given:
ipod cable - ipod will not work through radio (even though this is the whole intent of the part)
trail-rated badage - will come on my vehicle with the purchase of premium gruop II
mygig rip from ipod - you rip music from ipod to mygig
selct trac II - the jeep will always be in 4wd and will never be in 2wd
1st nav upgrade free - this is not true

Chrysler either doesn't care or doesn't realize that the dealerships have no clue what they are talking about.

Ever one has complained about the ipod thing, as far as i know, the whole ipod integration depends on your build date. Just look around the kk section
the whole trailed rated badge is a gimmick, if you make enough stink, they may just give it to you. Other wise, buy one
mygig :?: I don't have one
the t case has a 2wd option here is how it works http://www.jeep.com/en/4x4/how_systems_work/selec_trac_2/
I don't know why the nav would be free. Was the idea of a free upgrade from the dealer or from Chrysler?[/url]

Does anyone actually have this part
iPod Integration - MOPAR Part 82211853
on their Jeep Liberty.

Can anyone control the ipod through the use of the touch screen via the mygig system?

I am being told again that the mopar part above will not allow the ipod to work as apple is no longer working with Chrysler.

Is another part needed? What is the difference between the iPod Integration and the iPod interface?

AS a matter of fact I do!
Ipod interface: Like any other interface (do a search for drive+play from harman kardon) your ipod will be connected to your stereo via an FM modulator... you will tune your radio to a preset station and you will hear the ipod through that station.... Music quality sucks!

Ipod INTEGRATION: you control your ipod trough your stereo and the quality is awesome!

My dealer installed the wrong part! I had placed an order for Mopar Part # 82211853 ($87.15). Well today I go plug in the iPod and it has to work through a radio station. This is obviously not the part that I wanted! The salesmen said that this is what came when the order was placed. I was also told that the part I had ordered was no longer available because of the whole Apple / Chrysler controversy (what controversy I haven't a clue). My salesmen did throw this part in for no cost when the vehicle arrived so it is a free part, just not the part I wanted.

So now I need to find the right part and have it installed.
