Post subject:  Only one cigarette lighter/PWR Outlet....any solutions?

I have the base model KK...there is only one power outlet. On a recent drive up to Vermont, I was excited to use my new sirius radio while still having my Magellan GPS on for directions. I used a splitter that I had laying around so that I could plug both of the power cables in. After about an hour of driving, the fuse died. Long story short, I could not find replacement fuses/ did not know what fuses were not used so I ended up buying a pack of fuses ($10!) and replaced the fuse.
My problem is that I am worried about using another splitter in one power outlet...I don't want to blow fuses weekly.
Does anyone have a solution or fix for this? Any suggestion on a reliable splitter that will balance the power? Or, is there any way to install another power outlet?
Any help is greatly appreciated...sorry for the long story.

dont be sorry
THis is what I actually miss from my 2001 cherokee sport... I had two power outlets in there... the limited model also comes with one power outlet...
Adding a second power outlet is very easy...and the best part is that you could use the center console to install it...
Sorry that I did not solved your issue but there is not much to do...

I just bought a three way splitter at Target, for the time being I have it in that elastic strap on the drivers side of the console, but I will mount it when I get a chance. It runs my GPS, Sirius, and a phone charger. No problems whatsoever. It actually looks nice and neat. I had previously been using a simply Y splitter, but it was too many wires dangling over my console or passenger side.

there is something wrong with either your splitter or your power outlet. a gps /sirius radio /phone charger use very little current compare to a cigarette lighter. there is no way just these 2 things could blow the fuse

Thank you for your responses...I agree, there was likely a problem with the splitter. For now, I think I will pick up a new one.
